Week of Prayer for Christian Unity January 18-25, 2018 Your Right Hand, O Lord, Glorious in Power (Exodus 15:6) As Jesus prepared to seal the new covenant in His own blood, His earnest prayer to the Fa-ther was that those given to Him by the Father would be one, just as He and the Father were one. When Christians discover their unity in Jesus, they participate in Christ’s glorification in the presence of the Father, with the same glory that He had lived in the Father’s pres-ence before the world existed. Therefore, God’s covenanted people must always strive to be a reconciled community that serves as an effective sign of how to live in justice and peace for all the people of the earth. We will celebrate this week of Christian unity in con-junction with our Lutheran brethren, and oth-er Christian denominations that serve and minister to the Christian Community of Jack-son and beyond. On Thursday, January 25, at 6:30 p.m., Bishop Steven Biegler, Diocese of Cheyenne, Pastor Inger Hanson and the clergy of OLM and Holy Family will lead the Evening Prayer for Christian Unity in our church. In solidarity with the Universal Church, you are invited to attend this Prayer Service, in which we commemorate 500 years of the life chang-ing events of the Reformation.

Semana de Oración Para la Unidad Cristiana 18-25 Enero 2018 Tu Diestra, Oh Señor, es Majestuosa en Poder (Éxodo 15:6) Mientras Jesús se preparaba a sellar la nueva alianza con Su propia sangre, su oración since-ra al Padre era que ellos que fueron dados a Él por el Padre fueran Uno, así como Él y el Padre eran Uno. Cuando Cristianos descubren su uni-dad por Jesús, participan en la glorificación de Cristo en la presencia del Padre, con la misma gloria que Él había vivido en la presencia del Padre antes de la tierra. Por lo tanto, la gente de Dios deben de esforzarse siempre a ser una comunidad reconciliada que sirve como señal efectivo de como vivir en justicia y paz para todas las personas de la tierra. Celebraremos esta semana de unidad Cristiana junto con nuestros hermanos Luteranos, y otras denomi-naciones cristianas que sirven a la Comunidad Cristiana de Jackson.
