Dear HGP Moms:

Happy New Year! I hope everyone was able to take time to relax and enjoy the Holiday Seasonwith family and friends. With the New Year, comes New Year's resolutions. Why not makeone of your resolutions to attend the Mothers' Guild Meetings and find out about the manyexciting events that the Mothers' Guild has in place in the coming months. The Mothers' GuildMeetings are a great resource for news and upcoming events and everyone is welcome to joinus!

The Mothers' Guild ended the year with our Annual Christmas Dinner hosted by the FreshmenClass and Vice-Presidents. I would like to extend our heart-felt thanks to the FreshmanRepresentatives: Teresa Brook, Kerry Coyne and Mary Beth McFadden; as well as our Vice-Presidents: Angela Dolce and Laura Wozniak for all of their hard work in providing all theMoms with such an enjoyable evening. There was plenty of delicious food, the Dining Hall wasdecorated beautifully and the Freshman Representatives were gracious hosts. I would also liketo thank Rita Charlton for taking on the task of the Mothers' Guild Poinsettia sale anddecorating the Chapel Altar so beautifully with all the Poinsettia Plants that were so generouslydonated by our Moms. Continuing with our Annual Tradition, we were all treated to theinspirational story telling of Ryan Abramson. Thank you to everyone who made this a specialevening.

During the December meeting, we were able to present Father Jeff with a check in the amountof $15,000 from the Craft Show proceeds. We anticipate presenting Father with another checkbefore the end of the school year.

I invite everyone to please join us at the next Mothers' Guild Meeting on Monday, February 4,2013 beginning with the celebration of Mass at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel followed by our meetingand refreshments in the Dining Hall. We are honored to have our Forensics Team join us toperform a selection of their award-winning entries. For anyone who has not had theopportunity to experience the Forensics Team performances, you are in for an entertainingevening. Information regarding their Annual Spaghetti Dinner which is being held at HGP onSunday, March 3,2013, will be available. Also, Members of the Forensics Team will be on handselling Raffle Tickets for beautiful gift baskets and an iPad. Please come out and support theForensics Team.

As you are aware, the Website Information Night originally schedule in January was cancelled.However, Brenda Bondarchuk, the Mothers' Guild Web Master, will setup one of the meeting

rooms in the Dining Hall to offer a brief demonstration/overview of the Website and answerany questions that you may have regarding the Mothers' Guild Website.

Our annual Mother/Son Dinner Dance is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 2013 beginningwith the celebration of Mass at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel, followed by dinner and dancing in theFieldhouse. Whether you are a Freshman Mom who is just beginning your journey here at HolyGhost or a Senior Mom who, in just a few short months, will be sending your son off to collegeor anywhere in between, I encourage ALL Moms to attend this "Magical Evening". What betterway to celebrate the special bond between Mother and Son. No matter what your son tells you,this is a well-attended event and everyone attends! I can tell you from personal experience thatI have attended every Mother/Son Dance with all three of my sons and they are some of thebest memories I have with my sons at Holy Ghost and, yes, the boys actually dance! Don't missout on this "Magical Evening." Your Invitation to the Mother/Son Dance is enclosed with thisNewsletter. SENIOR MOMS REQUEST #1 ~ Senior Baby Photo Contest: Enclosed you will find Flyerthat requires your attention. As you know from years past, one of the fun activities of theMother/Son Dance is the Senior Baby Photo Contest. It is VERY IMPORTANT that youprovide an 8xlO Photo of your son when he was a baby {COPIES ONLY PLEASE - PICTURESWILL NOT BE RETURNED}. These photos are displayed in the lobby of the Fieldhouse andthose in attendance vote on the pictures. Happy New Year! Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. As the new semester begins,there are several upcoming events and happenings at HGP that the Mothers' Guild hosts. We arelooking for volunteers and donations for these events, which as you know, cannot be successfulwithout your help!
