EVER THOUGHT OF BEING A PRIEST?

God maybe calling you at this very moment to serve Him by being a priest for the Diocese of Springfield. Our Catholic Church needs more people to answer His call to priesthood. If you may be interested, please call Fr. Joe at 423-6223.

INVITE SOMEONE BACK TO CHURCH!!

DEAR HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS: We are in the midst of October, the month of the Rosary. The Catholic Church calls its faithful to pray this most special prayer in a special way during these days of October. The Rosary is prayed on each weekday morning, ex-cept Thursdays, at 7:10 a.m. before the 7:30 a.m. Mass. The Rosary is prayed for the intentions of all our parish-ioners, for those who have asked for our prayers, for the good of our country & its respecting our religious free-dom, & for all other intentions. What a beautiful way to pray as a community before we enter the most sacred & powerful prayer---the Eucharist. The Rosary is very simple to do, yet powerful in its benefits. I grew up seeing my grandmother pray it sev-eral times a day. I remember my father never forgetting to pray one each day, as well as my mother who prays several a day. It has influenced my prayer life im-mensely. And that is what we can do for each other, es-pecially those in our own families. I ask that each family consider praying the Rosary at least once a week. If daily, great! May the Rosary draw us closer to the Blessed Virgin, the one who intercedes on our behalf. May the praying of the Rosary deepen our faith as a family at home & as a parish family. Let us use the month of October to continue or begin the praying of one of our tradition’s most hallowed prayers---the Rosary. And let us pray----Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are you among women, & blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now & at the hour of our death. AMEN. ---FR. JOE

YEAR OF MERCY REFLECTION FOR Oct. 8/9

Always on the lookout. Elisha looks out for Naaman (2 Kings 5:14-17). Jesus looks out for the ten lepers (Luke 17:11-19). Both teach us to always attend, always respond to the needs of others. In the Collect today we pray: “make us always determined to carry out good works.” I need to be on the lookout. The need for good works abounds.
