Everyone likes to get something forfree. What about when that free

device can also save you mon-ey? The Department of Wa-ter Supply will promotewater conservation byproviding its cus-tomers with free wa-ter-saving devices andinformation on waysto save water in theirhomes. During the ex-po, they will feature watersaving fixtures includingshowerheads (1.5 gpm),kitchen faucet aerators (1.5 gpm),bathroom faucet aerators (1.0 gpm), toilettank bags (for customers with high flush/less efficient toi-lets), leak detection tablets, five-minute shower timers andhose nozzles with flow not to exceed 2.4 gpm.

The department will also giveaway native plants on a first come, firstserved basis,“to encouragehomeownersto utilize intheir land-scape native,drought toler-ant and less thirsty plants appropriate in their area,” saysCounty of Maui Department of Water Supply Water Re-sources Planner Edna Manzano.

Native plants adapted to the area conserve water and pro-tect the watershed from degradation due to invasive alienspecies.
