INSTALLATION

Installing the Fog Light Switch Harness
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for theradio, then write down the frequencies for thepreset buttons.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the three screws that fasten the upperand lower steering covers, and remove thecovers.

5. Remove the dashboard lower cover, (threescrews, two clips, and one connector).

6. Remove the knee bolster (three bolts and oneconnector).

9. Remove the ashtray bracket (two screws, twoclips, one connector, and pull the ashtray brackettoward you).
10. Remove the access cap and the two screws thatfasten the rear console.

11. Remove the four self-tapping screws that fastenthe front console.

12. Remove the two self-tapping screws from thesides of the rear console, and then remove thefront and rear consoles.

13. Locate the fuse label (included in the kit), andattach the fuse label to the fuse holder secured tothe switch harness.
14. Plug the switch harness 4-pin connector into therelay from the kit; then install the relay:
• Remove and discard the upper bolt fasteningthe hood opener, then attach the switchharness ground terminal to the upper bolt holeusing the ground bolt supplied with the kit.

• Remove the bolt fastening the vehicle relay,and attach the 4-pin relay to the vehicle relayusing the relay mounting bolt. Install the relayand the switch harness ground terminal with theground bolt (included in the kit).
• Tighten the bolts securely.
15. Locate the 1-pin connector blue-taped to thevehicle harness. Remove the blue tape to free theconnector.
16. Plug the 1-pin connector from the switch harnessinto the 1-pin connector of the vehicle harness.Secure the harness using two wire ties. Securethe wire ties only in the areas shown and not tothe yellow SRS wire harness. Cut the excess offof the wire ties.

17. Route the switch harness 6-pin connector and1-pin connector over the steering shaft, andsecure the switch harness to the vehicle harnesswith one wire tie.

18. Unplug the 7-pin connector from the light switch;then slide the 1-pin connector from the switchharness into the light switch connector. Reconnectthe 7-pin connector.
If the vehicle you’re working is equipped with asecurity system, unplug the security systemharness 7-pin connector from the vehicle harnessand slide the 1-pin connector from the switchharness into the 7-pin security system connector,then reconnect the 7-pin connector.

19. Secure the switch harness to the vehicle harnesswith one wire tie in the area shown. Move thesteering column up and down to make sure theswitch harness does not rub on the tilt bracket.
20. On the left side of the parking brake lever,measure and mark the floor carpet in the areashown. Using a utility knife, make a slit in thecarpet as indicated by the mark.

21. Route the switch harness under the floor carpetand out through the slit you just cut.
22. Attach one wire tie with clip to the switch harness,and press the clip into the hole in the instrumentpanel bracket. If this hole is already occupied,remove the existing wire tie and secure bothharnesses with a new wire tie with clip.
23. Reinstall the steering column covers, the kickpanel, the dashboard lower cover, and the frontconsole.

24. Push out the lower switch cover from the rearconsole, and reinstall the rear console with the6-pin connector routed through the hole. Discardthe removed switch cover.

25. Get the fog light switch from the kit. Plug the foglight switch into the 6-pin connector; then fit theswitch into the hole in the rear console.
26. Get template A from the kit. Using a utility knife,cut out the lower “L” section from template A.Position the lower “L” section of template A on theleft side of the front bumper just below the centergrille and hold it there with a strip of adhesivetape. Using a felt-tip pen, mark the left edge of thelower “L” section on the front bumper.

27. Cut out the upper “L” section from template A.Fold the “L” section in the reverse direction alongthe dotted lines, and position it on the left of thefront bumper just above the center grille asshown. Using a felt-tip pen, mark the left edge ofthe upper “L” section on the front bumper.

29. Get template B from the kit, and position it on theleft side of the front bumper as shown. Using afelt-tip pen, mark the front bumper in the areashown.

30. While wearing eye protection, drill a 10 mm holethrough the mark made in step 28:
• To prevent damage to the wire harnesses andconnectors behind the front bumper, wrapelectrical tape around the drill bits10 mm away from the tip.

• First drill a 3 mm pilot hole, then finish with a 10mm bit.
31. Using a hacksaw blade, cut out the marked areafrom the front bumper. Take care not to removethe boss from the inner face of the front bumper.

32. Use a file to finish all the edges and to removeany burrs.
Remove any burrs.
33. Repeat steps 26 through 32 to cut out the rightside of the front bumper.
34. Position bracket A on the front bumper, and installtwo large washer-screws.

Installing the Fog Light Harness
36. Get the fog light harness from the kit. Secure theharness to the front lower cross member with fivewire ties with clips. Cut the excess off of the wireties.

37. Route the fog light harness ground terminal and1-pin connector into the engine compartmentthrough the hole in the body.

38. Locate the 1-pin connector blue-taped to thevehicle harness behind the headlight. Connect thefog light harness 1-pin connector to thisconnector.

39. Loosen the ground bolt securing the vehiclecentral ground to the body. Attach the fog lightharness ground terminal and the vehicle groundcable to the body using this bolt. Tighten the boltsecurely.
40. Secure the fog light harness to the vehicleharness with one wire tie.

41. Slide the 2-pin connector from the fog light onto theconnector holder on the fog light bracket.

42. Connect the fog light harness 2-pin connector to the2-pin connector on the fog light.
43. Position the left fog light on brackets A and B, andinstall three small washer-screws.

44. Tighten the two large washer-screws looselyinstalled in step 35.
45. Repeat steps 34, 35, and 41 through 44 to installthe right fog light on the right side of the bumper.
46. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properlyand all connectors are plugged in.
47. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
48. Enter the customer’s radio anti-theft code, andreset the radio station presets.
49. Reset the clock.

USE AND CARE
The fog light lenses may cloud when the outsidetemperature is cold; this is normal and should go awayin warm weather.
Operating the Fog Lights• Turn the light switch to the “on” position (headlight
on low beam).
• Press the fog light switch (pilot indicator is on).

Adjusting the Fog Lights
• Adjust the vertical aiming according to the locallaws and regulations. The horizontal aiming isfactory set and cannot be adjusted.
• To adjust, turn the adjusting screw in or out until thecorrect aiming is obtained. Repeat for the other foglight.

Replacing the Fog Light Bulb
Use only a Genuine Acura halogen light bulb ofspecified wattage.
Part, Tools, and Supplies Required
Bulb: 12V-55W H3 bulb (P/N 08170-SF1A0-07)
#2 Phillips screwdriver
Clean, soft cloth
Denatured alcohol (or detergent solution)
Sponge
1. Remove the three washer-screws, and pull the foglight toward you.
2. Unplug the fog light harness connectors (pressdown on the lock). Do not pull out on the harnesswhen releasing the connector from the holder; youcould damage the harness.

4. Remove the terminal cover from the pin, andunplug the socket wire terminal from the terminalcover.
5. Release the spring from the hook, and pull thesocket out of the housing.

NOTE: Do not touch the bulb itself; handle the bulbassembly only by the socket. Oily or greasysubstances on the bulb can shorten its service life dueto the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If thebulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a clean,soft cloth that has been dampened with denaturedalcohol or a mild detergent solution.
6. Replace the bulb with a new one.
7. Align the cutout in the socket with the projectionon the fog light housing when installing the socket.

8. Reinstall the rear cover:
• Check that the wires are not forced against anymetal parts.
• Check that the wires are not pinched betweenthe rear cover and the fog light housing.
• Check that the gasket is installed properly andnot twisted or inverted.
• Tighten the rear cover screws securely.
9. Reinstall the fog light.
Replacing the Fuse
Part RequiredFuse: 15A (P/N 98200-31500)
To replace the fuse, remove the cover from the fuseholder taped to the switch harness, install a new 15Afuse, and reinstall the cover.
