Hong Kong Awards for Industries

Supported by the Government, the Hong Kong Awards for Industries (HKAI) was launched in 2005 by merging the former Hong Kong Awards for Industry and Hong Kong Awards for Services, established in 1989 and 1997 respectively. The HKAI aims to recognise the outstanding performance and achievements of Hong Kong enterprises in enhancing their competitiveness in various aspects.

Overall coordination is provided by the Organising Committee of the HKAI. This Committee is chaired by the Director-General of Trade and Industry with membership drawn from the organisers of the seven award categories. Within the guidelines provided by this Committee, annual competition of the seven award categories is held and run by the respective organisers.

To reflect the prestige of the Awards, only one Grand Award is presented to the most outstanding entry in each category every year. Each organiser may also present a number of Awards and Certificates of Merit to other deserving entries in the award category for which it is responsible. To maintain the high standard of the HKAI, the judging panels may decide not to present the Grand Award in any given term.

Award LogoThe HKAI’s logo juxtaposes two precious elements, a pearl and a pierced jade amulet. In Chinese, the two words together signify a perfect match. In the Western context, the two symbols together form the letter ‘Q’, which is widely associated with the concept of quality.

要測試布料的手感，市場上已有由日本、澳洲及美國開發的織物測量系統。

Several commercial systems from Japan, Australia and USA are available in the market place for evaluating textiles.

The Fabric Touch Tester offers the advantage of rapid testing, within 3 minutes, and characterisation of more fabric characteristics than other similar evaluation systems in the market place. It offers the additional capability to measure thermal properties which is not addressed by the existing competitors. It incorporates several different types of sensors including a sensor to measure friction and roughness, and mechanical transducers to apply pressure and warping to measure fabric stiffness and bending properties.

The product has demonstrated its marketability. So far, 17 systems have already been sold to different users including textiles manufacturers, universities and research institutions. Furthermore, it has had 3 iterations of improvements since 2013.

ComFlex Modular Fiber Optical Repeater System is an important building block of indoor distributed antenna system for commercial public mobile telecommunication network as well as private mobile network.
