UNIVERSAL UNFOLEDEDTHE CHALLENGE: Universal Furniture is a residential furniturecompany with it’s showroom and headquarters located in High Point, North Carolina. As their casegoods transformed from traditional to modern southern home furnishings, their corporate oces struggled to reflect their brand development.

THE SOLUTION: Origami, the anciet art of Japan, is a creative method of folding paper to develop beautiful forms. Just as simple folds and creases create an intricate 3D design, Universal Furniture achieves multi-dimensional results through the precise roles of each department. The office would evoke this delicate activity with geometric shapes and a sleek modern look.

Nouveau An Alternative Day Spa

conceptNouveau is a “Day & Night” alternative to a traditional day spa.

Like the Art Nouveau movement, this spa is a counteraction against the understimulating and predictable. The multi-sensory environment incorporates aromatherapy, various textures, light

manipulation, and meditative sound to support the unconventionalservices oered. Like the Art Nouveau style, beauty is found in every detail from the live moss floors and day and moon-lit

corridors, to the sinuous wall forms which promote a guest-centric environment.

Yoga Therapy

The Vibrational Sound Therapy relies on specifically engineered Therapeutic Singing Bowls that

provide stress relief through extreme relaxation during a

session. One major comfort barrier that prevents many people from

receiving a traditional massage is fear of being touched by a stranger; VST

eliminates that.

Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Inviion 4 Senses

Lounger is a multi-sensory voyageinto a world of relaxation.

Hear and feel the Chi activatingvibration, see light perceptible even

when your eyes are closed, and smell the harmonic aromatherapy. The sense of warmth and comfort

can lead to a state of medidtation.

Dry pharmacuetical grade salt is heated and then crushed into

tiny micro-particles which are then dispersed into the room.

Halotherapy is recognized as a safe and eective wellness

practice for preventative and restorative health care.

Yoga is practice one-on-one or in a small group. It respects dierences

across age, culture, religion, philosophy, occupation, and

mental and physical health. The goal is empowerment through

spiritual, psycological, or physiological growth.

Solar Tubes

Public areas resemble the day with a bright openess, while the private rooms explore the intimate comfort of a moonlit night. Bright areas feature a suspended ceiling lined with LED to cascadeindirect light down like the sun. Moonlit rooms encapsulate the guest with curved walls hiding spotlights which bounce light o a reflective panel and down into the space for a glow like onlythe night sky.
