The effects of exceeding safe pressure

levels in an unprotected pressure vessel

or system can cause catastrophic

disaster for both plants and personnel.

PSV safety relief valves are designed

to automatically discharge gas, vapor,

steam, liquid or biphase mixture

from any pressurized system, including

boilers, pressure vessels, and pipelines.

PSV can provide safety valves with

conventional or balanced configuration.

Conventional safety valves can be

used on systems where the discharge

layout is relatively simple and the built-

up back pressure is included within

10%. When a constant superimposed

back pressure exists, a conventional

safety valve should be set at the

differential pressure.

Balanced bellows safety valves are

statically balanced and minimize the

effect of back pressure and is suitable

for more complex discharge systems

with built-up back pressure over 10%
