Front page of May 5, 1943 Cleveland Plain Dealer report of crash of B-24 HOT STUFF in Iceland en route to US. Not noted in the report, Hot Stuff was the first heavy bomber in the 8th Air Force to complete 25 missions. The plane and the crew were to be to be put on a US tour celebrating the success of their deployment. Following the crash, MEMPHIS BELLE was selected to make the tour. LTG Frank Andrews, Commanding General of the European Theater was killed in the crash.
