InterimChaplain’s Message

I’m sure that weall have one ormore Holy Bibles in ourhomes. But do we all readthem every day? It is theWord of God, and containsGod’s Commands and theplan of Salvation. We learnabout the Power of God in theOld Testament, and about theLove of God in the NewTestament. To many people itis the most important Book inthe World!

John Adams: “The Bible isthe best Book in the World.”Noah Webster: “All themiseries and evils which mensuffer from, vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from them despisingor neglecting the preceptscontained in the Bible.”Abraham Lincoln: “TheBible is the best gift God hasgiven to men. All the good theSavior gave to the World wascommunicated through thisbook. But for it, we could notknow right from wrong.”Theodore Roosevelt: “Theteachings of the Bible are sointerwoven and entwined withour whole civic and social lifethat it would be literally–I donot mean figuratively, I meanliterally–impossible for us tofigure to ourselves what lifewould be if these teachingswere removed.”Harry Truman: “Thefundamental basis of thisNation's law was given toMoses on the Mount. TheFundamental basis of out Billof Rights comes from Exodusand St. Matthew, from Isaiahand St. Paul. I don't think weemphasize that enough thesedays.”
