ImplementaKon Philosophy
• Sharing is Caring • Our teachers are preay smart • If you’re not moving towards something, you must be moving away from it
• Quick laptop service • Must be as helpful as possible
You’re not going to blame ExamSo: or any technology for any issues you may have.
Recipe for Faculty Success
• Training – 2 teachers per department • Setup student account for each teacher
– FAC98 – Allowed teachers to use ExamSop exactly as students would including portal and receiving scores
• Take a school-‐created pracKce test • Create a pracKce test for yourself and take it as a student • Create a pracKce test for your class • Take the pracKce test with them.
– No penalKes – Everyone is learning together!
• Gradually incorporate ExamSop into curriculum. – By final exam Kme, it’s all the students know.
• Take each others’ tests – Proofread, catch mistakes
Support for Faculty
• Class Push-‐In • One-‐on-‐one coaching • Observe classes of other teachers
– Great modeling – Shows students that teachers learn too – Collegiality
• Period email reminders targeKng specific issues – DirecKons with screenshots
• Sample quesKons
Sample QuesKon
• Graph is a screenshot of a generated test
• Imported as an image file • Used math editor for degrees symbols
Sample Higher-‐Order Thinking

public int mystery(int n){
if ( n == 1){return 3;
elsereturn 3 * mystery(n-1);

Tech Support Table That’s me!
Debriefing
• AddiKonal uploads for students with loaner computers – Forced all students to download exams week before exam period
– LegiKmate hardware/sopware problems – Forgoaen laptops
• Students with extended Kme? – Take enKre test in library
• Students who could not access wifi post-‐exam (few) – Unfiltered access in my office – plug in
• Faculty not posKng exam in same folder or using unique name
• No lost exams • No shenanigans
Absentee Procedure
• Repost same test – Different download password (if had one) – forces student to download in person immediately before test
– Different assessment password – Post in makeup folder?
• Concern – Absent student gets assessment password and views test
– Clock did not adjust when resumed and not prompted for resume code
Underclassman Exams – Old Way
• 560 students • Scheduling
– Half of 2 different classes per room – Assigned proctor
• First day of exams – English, Second day – Math, etc. • Envelopes • Scrap • Essay paper • Lost exams • Makeups – get copy of test, when scheduled?
Underclassman Exams – New Way
• Exams by period • One exam per day; one day 2 exams • Class has no test = day off • Tech support table centrally located • No major issues
