DESCRIPTION

Project Happy Feet Slipper Race is a non-competitive 3-5km walk in slippers (flip flops) to fundraise for education and training programmes benefiting underprivileged children and youths, especially those in developing countries. Conceptualised by Singaporean non-profit organisation Project Happy Feet, the event is run entirely by volunteers so that 100% of registration fees, donations, and spillover sponsorship cash can be channeled directly to pre-identified programmes. The inaugural PHFSR was held on 13 Novemeber 2011. Today, the race has gone beyond Singapore, to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Cebu Mactan Island in the Philippines. The event has raised in excess of SGD400,000, benefitting underprivileged children in Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam and Philippines. Project Happy FEet Slipper Race is able to go the distance because of corporate partners and sponsors. In this deck, Project Happy Feet hopes to share how corporate partners have helped in the past PHFSR, and recommends ways for corporate organisations to get involved through sponsorship in cash or in kind, supporting through extending networks, volunteering and participating in the event itself.
