HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE
CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION
STAGES?

PLANNING AND RESEARCH
The main technology I used was the iMac computers , this was used for my
research and planning stage, they introduced a new design techniques in the
form of ‘Photoshop’. Also as part of my research and planning I had to do
some primary research into regional magazines which involved physically
buying magazines to gain more knowledge as I had never brought or read one
before. My presentation techniques involved from ‘Prezzie’ and ‘Slide Share’,
both of these I had never used before and I had to used YouTube tutorials on
how to use them, after watching them they was really easy to use. I have also
presented my Prezzi’s and Slide Shares on my blog page, which i had to also
find tutorials on how to put them on there for people to access easily.

PLANNINGBeing able to plan my coursework it get be a chance to make drafts
before settling on my final piece. Whilst in my planning stages I used
digital technologies and sketched drafts. I created my drafts on
‘Photoshop’ and I used ‘Webbly’ to drafts my hyper linked web pages.
During the planning stage I continually kept making more changed as
there were many changes to be made. The main problem was sorting out
getting the right images what I wanted because the weather was always
bad it was hard to get decent shots.
My focus group was a main part of my coursework as they enabled me to
gain knowledge that I didn't know to create my pieces of coursework,
when I didn't know t was expected for the target audience of regional
magazines. Especially when coming to creating my billboard
advertisement.

RESEARCHTo contact my focus group we had regular meetings to discuss my work
pieces. Also the first few weeks in lessons I used most my time looking up on
the internet and YouTube on regional magazines, to see what they was about,
how they was laid out, target audience and what I would have to do to make my
own work look professional.
Mostly my regional magazine research for all my tasks, main and ancillary
was conducted by the internet, many lessons and notes into what I was going to
do to create my own. I also conducted primary research to see first hand
regional magazines for myself that I could take home and look back at if I
needed to. As for my billboard I had never seen a magazine billboard, so that
research was constructed by the help of my focus group, however also local
billboards, seeing there simple designs also made me realise I should keep to a
simple design.

IMAGE CREATION
Whilst creating my advertisement I found that in my research
many adverts were of watches and I wanted to created that sense of
professionalism into my own work. Using ‘Photoshop’ enabled me to
create this, from the transformation from the image took to what my
final piece looks like.

CONSTRUCTION During creating my main tasks and ancillary tasks, the planning at
the start enabled me to know knowledge and get the right ideas for
my final pieces. I used ‘Photo Shop’ for my main tasks, billboard but
for my webpage I used ‘Webbly’ to create my own webpage deign.
From already using ‘Photo shop’ for my year 12 coursework I
already had skills on how to use it to create good final pieces to
bring forward to my year 13 coursework, however when I used
‘Weebly’ to create my Web Page I had never used it before and had
to look up YouTube tutorials to help me understand and gain new
skills to create a successful, professional Webpage.
To produce high quality images used across all my tasks I used a
cannon digital camera to the pictures I needed for my work. I had
also used this camera in year 12 as well therefore I already had
knowledge on how to used it and what angels to get the best shots.
EVALUATION
When completing my evaluation I used many media technologies such
as ‘Prezzi’ and ‘Slide Share’, which enabled me to have a more visual
effect on people and they would want to read it as it isn't just all text in
one format. Iv included lots of images of my mains tasks, ancillary tasks
and drafts throughout where iv explained about them and you can then
see them below, connecting what I am talking about. I set my evaluation
out on ‘Microsoft Word’ including two questions written on there, one on
‘Slide Share’ which was originally created on ‘Microsoft Power Point’ and
one on ‘Prezzi’, for more visual texts for the reader to look at and be
interested in.
