Teaching Abroad: How to
broaden your horizons in 2017
At the start of a new year we are
often bombarded with messages
about how we can change our
lives for the better.
Whether you have decided to stop
smoking, lose weight or reign in
your spending, the sad truth is that
only 8% of people actually succeed
in achieving their resolutions. But
there is no rule that says your New
Year’s resolution has to be
something unenjoyable.
If you’ve decided that you want to broaden your horizons
in 2017, then teaching abroad could be the ideal solution to
achieving this…

Experience Another Culture. When you travel to a country on holiday, you are limited by time restraints. But if you move aboard
for a longer period of time, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in another culture
and experience a new way of life on a much deeper level than a tourist.
Making new friends, learning another country’s history and traditions and trying new foods are just
of the ways that experiencing a new culture can enrich you as an individual.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry
and narrow-mindedness”
Mark Twain
Learn a New Language..
Salaries will vary depending on location and experience, but many
placements also offer additional benefits like accommodation or
transportation.
Future employers will also look favourably on your experience as it
demonstrates that your are adaptable and determined.
There is no better way to broaden your
mind than learning another language.
Learning another language gives you an
insight in to the way another country
constructs its ideas and will give you a
much greater understanding of its culture.
Studies have
shown that
learning another
language improves
brain functionality,
multitasking skills,
memory and
perception.
“To have another
language is to
possess a
second soul”Charlemagne

Personal Growth
Moving to a foreign country on your own takes confidence and determination. You will face difficulties at first, particularly if you do not speak the language, but if it will be an amazing learning experience.
You will not only acquire new skills, but you’ll learn more about the kind of person you are, and most importantly what you are capable of.
