How to discover data and metadata
• With the acronym of “INSPIRE” we refer to the Directive 2007/2/EC of the European parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community. The Directive entered into force on the 15th May 2007 and will be fully implemented by 2019.

• Metadata are not only obligation, but also useful tool for discover and validate spatial (not only data)
• Metadata are available trough catalogues supporting discovery and validation of data and services
How to discover data and metadata
• Metadata: the Directive requirements on metadata are the most urgent, as is asked to Member States to ensure that metadata for datasets corresponding to the themes listed in Annex I and II are created no later than two years after the date of adoption of the Metadata Regulation and no later than five years in case of dataset corresponding to the themes listed in annex III
