Need some extra help around the house? Turn chores into a fun activity for your kids by implementing some of these creative ideas:

1 DO A TREASURE HUNTGive each child a color or letter of thealphabet. Have them pick up everything they can of that color or everything that starts with that letter.

3 CREATE A BULLSEYEUse painter’s tape to create a square on the floor—the “bull’s-eye.” Have your kids sweep as many crumbs as possible into the bullseye.

2 CREATE A CHORE CHARTWrite a list of the household chores and have each child write their name next to the chore once it’s completed. The child who completes the most chores by the end of the week gets a special prize.

4 KICK OFF A CHORES OLYMPICSTurn a few simple chores (i.e. folding laundry, washing dishes, etc.) into a timed race where the kids can compete against the parents. The team to finish their tasks first gets to pick the next family movie or dinner.

5 KID-FRIENDLY DUSTING MITTSCan’t find a match for an old sock? Turn them into kid sized dusting mitts! Dampen each sock with spray and have your child put it on their hand to dust furniture.

7 RACK UP “CHORE MONEY”Give your kids monopoly money or “chore money” every time they complete a task. Once they rack up enough money they can trade it in to excuse themselves from one chore a week.

6 GET KID-SIZED CLEANING SUPPLIESSmall children can help too! Get some kid-sized cleaning supplies so they can mimic you or their older siblings.

8 TRY SWIFFER ICE SKATINGTape Swiffer cloths to the bottom of your kid’s feet and have them skate around on your hardwood floors.

Helping out around the house doesn’t have to be a drag for your little ones. These eight kid-friendly ideas are bound to help make tidying up easier and much more fun for the whole family. Happy cleaning!
