Many top players have spent decades developing their craft. The idea of practicing five or six hours a day can seem like an endless chore. Developing technical proficiency does require time. However, by employing a few basic techniques, you can improve your playing quickly. All it takes is some effort.

1Develop finger dexterity. To change chords quickly or play lightning fast guitar solos requires strong fingers that can change fret positions rapidly. One way to get your fingers up to scale is to practice pentatonic scales. Find these scales in most music books or online. Practice scales for at least 30 minutes a day. If you practice scales while watching a movie, two hours will pass and your fingering will improve.

2

Play bar chords for at least 30 minutes each day. Bar chords are crucial in most forms of contemporary music. While its easy to position your fingers into a bar chord, its often difficult to change chord positions when the song is complex. Practice playing bar chords until you can effortlessly change positions without the strings buzzing. String buzz comes from uneven finger pressure on the strings and ruins the tone. Practice with the amplifier on so you can check the clarity of your playing.

3 Play along with records. You should learn to play guitar by ear. This means you can listen to a song and determine the key it's in, based on what you hear. Playing by ear allows you to start playing music with other musicians. After a few months, you should be able to determine the chords being played as you listen to a song. Within a year, you should be able to pick out individual notes from a guitar solo. Do not become discouraged if this step takes time.

4

Learn to read guitar tabs. Reading sheet music used to be a prerequisite for becoming a professional musician. However, with the influx of young musicians entering the industry, tabs have become an easier way to learn songs. Try learning one song each week using guitar tab. Many websites offer free guitar tabs.

5 Practice with a metronome to help you develop rhythm. If you plan on playing with other people, rhythm is essential. Good rhythm is one of the hardest aspects of playing electric guitar. Practice with other musicians to improve your rhythm quickly.

How to Play Awesome Electric Guitar Quick & Easy - Play The Guitar Lessons Click here Classical Guitar

How to Play Awesome Electric Guitar Quick & Easy - Play The Guitar LessonsHow to Play Awesome Electric Guitar Quick & Easy - Play The Guitar Lessons Click here
