1HOW TO RE-CORD AKZ PLUS CANTILEVER

Note: Throughly read instructions before attempting to replace cord. These steps must be performed with the cantilever removed from baseor mount, and canopy taken off frame.

S T E P 1 Remove Broken Cord From Lower HubRemove the AKZ Plus from the rotating hub by unscrewing the 2 main frame bolts at the bottom of the main frame and set aside. Lift the AKZPlus frame off the rotating hub and place on a soft flat surface with crank handle side facing up.

If cord is visible, cut cord. From lower hub, turn light adapter counterclockwise and pull down. Remove 2 screwsusing a phillips screwdriver.

Set aside light adaptercap and 2 screws.

Push cord through top of lower hubuntil cord and cord end stopper comeout from lower hub. Remove ball fromcord and set aside.

S T E P 2 Remove Main Frame Cap

Pull cord out from head ofcanopy structure.

Set cap, bolt and 2 nuts aside.Keeping parts inside intact, remove mainframe cap.

Using a 6mm hex wrench,remove bolt and washer fromsupport arm side of mainframe cap.

Remove cord end stopperfrom cord and set aside.

Using a 13mm socket wrench,remove nut from canopystructure side of main framecap.

2S T E P 3 Detach Tilt Lever

Make sure tilt lever is detached frommain frame.

S T E P 4 Disassemble Main Frame Grip HousingNOTE: When removing the main frame grip housing cover, it is important to leave parts intact, unless specified.

Using a 2.5mm hexwrench, loosen small screwlocated on top of crankhandle. Remove crankhandle and set aside.

Using a 6mm hex wrench,loosen (4) bolts and nuts inmain frame grip housing.

Remove main frame griphousing cover, along with (4)bolts and nuts. Set aside.NOTE: Spring may pop outfrom handle. Reinsert or setaside.

Be sure to keep internal parts intact onother side cover and main frame.

S T E P 5 Remove Crank Mechanism

Lift and remove crank mechanism from main frame grip housing. Using a 3mm hex wrench,remove 3 screws.

Remove crank mechanismfrom tilt degree housing. Pullcord completely out from tiltdegree housing.

Remove tilt degree cylinder coupler fromcrank housing and cord.

Set aside 3 screws andretainer.

Set aside tilt degree cylindercoupler.

Now that your crank has been reassembled,locate tilt degree cylinder coupler, retainer and 3screws for next step.

Slide tilt degree cylindercoupler over crankmechanism.

S T E P 6 Assemble NEW Crank Mechanism to Tilt Degrees Mechanism

Insert end of new cord through tilt degree cylindercoupler.

Through this side of tilt degree cylinder coupler.

Line up holes on crankmechanism to tilt degreesmechanism.

Line up middle holeswith 0° on tilt degreesmechanism.

Attach retainer to tilt degrees mechanism. NOTE: Makesure retainer is placed over tilt degrees mechanismedge.

While holding crank mechanism, tilt degreecylinder coupler and retainer together, secure with3 bolts using a 3mm hex wrench.

Insert end of cord through tilt degree mechanism, until cord comes out top of umbrella. Gently pullthe cord out from top of umbrella.

Insert crank mechanism backinto tilt degree mechanism.

Locate retainer and3 screws.

Lower tilt lever back down to main frame.

4S T E P 7 Install Crank Mechanism onto Grip Handle Mechanism

Make sure crank shaft is lined up with tilt leverbolt.

Set crank handle mechanism into grip handle housing.

Attach nut under grip housing and tighten each of the 4bolts to each nut using a 6mm hex wrench.

Once bolts and nuts aretightened, test griphandle to make sure it isproperly functioning.

Reattach crank handle.Tighten small screw with2.5mm hex wrench tosecure.

Locate main frame griphousing cover and (4) boltsand nuts.

Assemble main frame grip cover back onto housing. Make sure to re-insert springinto handle before closinghousing cover.

S T E P 8 Attach Main Frame Cap

Pull cord out and over to insert cord through top left side of white cap. Continue tofeed cord through until cord is fully inserted.

Make sure cord is on theouter side of the cordguide.

May be necessary topull cord through toprunner.

S T E P 9 Assembly Lower Hub

Pull cord out from lower hub.Insert cord into top of lowerhub.

While holding ribs slightly open, pullcord out and tie knot.

Slide cord through smallerhole in cord end stopper.

Gently lower ribs back down. Checkto make sure cord is taut. If not,repeat previous step.

Tied knot with cord endstopper.

Tighten 2 screws using phillipsscrewdriver. Gently push lightadapter back into umbrella lower huband tighten turning clockwise.

Pull out light adapter fromlower hub and reattach capwith 2 screws.

REPLACEMENT COMPLETE. TEST TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTION.

Lift AKZ Plus and carefully place back onto rotating hub. Reinsert and tighten the main frame bolts to affix the main frame stand to therotating hub. Test.

Locate main frame cap, boltand 2 nuts.

Line up and attach main frame cap. Using 6mm hex wrench,tighten long bolt and nut.

Using a 13mm socket wrench,tighten nut to bolt.
