    Here is the first screen you got after clicking on button Filter Editorfrom theCable Library.

    Follow at the same time my step-by-step example with CYMCAP 3.on your computer:

    We will built a filter to find only !" C#" cable inside a $oltage range of %&k$ to'(k$ and a conductor area range from )*( +C+ to %((( +C+ ,using defaults of L"/

    0n the same time you will build the filter1 you will see the filter condition to beautomatically constructed for you in the box below 2Filter to apply on Cable Library3.

    4o built it1 you should:

    - 5elect O!e Core o!l"option inside box A##l" $ilter $or- Click on %olt&'echeck box1 enter %& for the first entry and enter '( for the

    second entry- Click on Co!d()tor Are&1 open the first list to select )*( +C+ ,L"1 6/

    and open the second list to select %((( +C+ ,L"1 6/

    Congratulations7 8ou ha$e complete your first cable filter.

    !ow1 it3s time to test your cable filter to the cable library to $erify the number of cables it

    will found. 4his option is $ery useful to a$oid you to sa$e or apply an empty filter ,nocables found/.

    Click on button Te*t +" $ilterlocated 9ust on top of the Clo*ebutton.

    0t seems that my cable filter found * cables in the cable library meeting the filter

    condition. 0t3s possible that example done on your computer will not gi$e you thesame number of cables found.

    0n case the program found 2( cable,s/3 for your cable filter1 9ust change it until

    Te*t +" Filteroption found some cables according to your criteria.

    nce1 the cable filter is good and $alid than it3s time to gi$e it a name and sa$e it into

    your cable filter list for later use.

    4o add your first cable filter into the filter list ,keep it permanently/1 you should1

    - "nter the name of your filter in the box ,&+e t-&t de*)rie* t-e $ilter.

    0n this example1 9ust type: +y first filter- Click S&/e &* ,e0button appears at the bottom of the dialog box

    - Click A##l"to acti$ate the filter on the cable library.

    ,.B. 0f you don3t want to sa$e the cable filter to keep it permanently1 you

    click A##l"to acti$ate the filter on the cable library only.

    fter clicking A##l"1 you get back to the na$igator with a reduce cable library showing

    you only cables of interest.

    Check at the bottom of the screen. 4he small companion cable filter window appears to

    tell you what is the current cable filter acti$ated and show you at the same the filter

    condition.

    When you ha$e finished to use the reduce cable library and want to get back with the

    complete library of cables 9ust click the Clo*ebutton.

    4o continue my example1 click again on the 2Filter "ditor63 button to add a new cable

    filter based on the current one 9ust created.

    4o reused any cable filter from the cable filter list1 you should

    - Click on A##l" Filter...button to open the small cable filter companion window appears at the button if not opened yet.

    - 5elect the cable filter list of interest under Sele)t de*ired $ilter

    0n my example1 select the first one created at the beginning. 5elect M" $ir*t $ilterand

    see now the new set of cables found for this filter in your cable library.

    nce is done1 click on Filter Editorbutton again to change now an existing cablefilter.

    now1 the default cable filter selected is M" $ir*t $ilter. Click on the ,e1tbutton oropen the cable filter list to select M" *e)o!d $ilter.
