How to Search Online Databases




1. Open your browser, then type the URL: http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/phslsu2. Type the password needed to access the site. (You may ask the librarian for the databases’ accessing details.)





3. Gale database will appear on the screen. 4. You may select General OneFile, which is a one-stop source for news, magazine, and periodical articles across a wide range of general interest topics and academic disciplines. With millions of articles available in both PDF and HTML full-text, General OneFile serves a wide audience of readers.





Or Science in Context , an engaging online experience for those seeking contextual information on hundreds of today's most significant science topics. The solution merges Gale's authoritative and continuously updated reference content with full-text magazines, academic journals, news articles, experiments, images, videos, audio files and links to vetted websites organized into a user-friendly portal experience.





Or Southern Luzon State University eJournals, a custom database of 250 journals selected by Southern Luzon State University from a list of over 10,000.





Or InfoTrac Engineering Collection, collection consists more than 1,950 journals and magazines.





5. For example, click the General OneFile.





6. General OneFile page will appear. The upper part shows the Advanced Search, Basic Search, Subject Guide Search and Publication Search.





7. In the search box, type the topic or a word then enter. EXAMPLE: TECHNOLOGY





8. Search results will appear. There are also related articles from magazines, books, news, and multimedia aside from journals, and related images, audios and videos at the right side of the database.

9. Double click the article you needed and it will appear on the screen.





10. Article may be viewed in full text form. Also, you can email, download, share, print, and get the citation of the article you have chosen. You may also download the MP3 file and translate the whole article in several languages. Tools are provided at the right side of the database.





You can download the MLA 7th ed. or APA 6th ed. citation.





You can repeat the same procedures in accessing Science in Context, Southern Luzon State University e-Journals and
