It also wonderful to see some of our older students supporting new students with joining in playground activities. I know that some of Mrs Just’s students had a lovely time and did a great job of working with KA on Friday to support them in their learning about Right Place and Right Time. Well done! Such great leadership. Our newly formed Student Council has also been busy meeting and discussing projects. They have put to me a range of ideas for activities to celebrate our PBL goals as we achieve them this year. They have also met with David Dunn who is helping us to design our school Wiradjuri mural and our story poles. I can’t wait to see what ideas the Stage 3 and SRC students come up with. Over the last couple of weeks I have been collating and analysing information from students, teachers and parents in order to complete our Annual School Report. The ASR will also help us to formulate our 2019 milestones for our School Plan. I would like to acknowledge too, the hard work of my team. Both teaching and non-teaching staff have all had a very busy start to the year with lots of changes and high expectations. They are doing a fantastic job within their roles and should be congratulated on their over and above contributions to our school. Gail Krause

Principal’s Report

I would like to congratulate our students on a great start to the year. It is very satisfying to see

students cooperating, following our school values of Respectful. Responsible, Safe and Active

Learners both in class and the playground. It also wonderful to see some of our older students

supporting new students with joining in playground activities. I know that some of Mrs Just’s

students had a lovely time and did a great job of working with KA on Friday to support them in

their learning about Right Place and Right Time. Well done! Such great leadership.

Our newly formed Student Council has also been busy meeting and discussing projects. They

have put to me a range of ideas for activities to celebrate our PBL goals as we achieve them

this year. They have also met with David Dunn who is helping us to design our school Wiradjuri

mural and our story poles. I can’t wait to see what ideas the Stage 3 and SRC students come

up with.

Over the last couple of weeks I have been collating and analysing information from students,

teachers and parents in order to complete our Annual School Report. The ASR will also help us

to formulate our 2019 milestones for our School Plan.

I would like to acknowledge too, the hard work of my team. Both teaching and non-teaching

staff have all had a very busy start to the year with lots of changes and high expectations.

They are doing a fantastic job within their roles and should be congratulated on their over and

above contributions to our school.

Deniliquin cricket trials

On Monday we represented the school in the

Deniliquin cricket trials. There were 55 kids

there and a squad of 23 was picked. It was

hot and long but it was worth it because we

were both selected. So now we have 2

training sessions and then a proper selection

trial in Wagga in September.

Noah Orchard and Hunter Hall.

Donation envelopes for Stewart House have been sent home to each family. Please donate if

possible. Every donation of $2 and above is eligible to win a $4000 family holiday.

Every year 1,700 public school children attend our safe haven next to Curl Curl beach at no cost

to their parents or carers. During a 12 day stay they are provided with dental, optical, hearing

and medical screening and treatment.

Children participate in educational programs and excursions designed to develop their social

and emotional skills, build self-esteem and improve their overall well-being.

This experience provides children with a much needed break from their current circumstance.

Our children are inspired to see beyond the present and to have real hope and positive

aspirations for their future.

Children in the care of Stewart House attend a specific purpose school onsite for 8 days of their

12-day stay. The NSW Department of Education provides infrastructure and staffing support for this

school.

All others costs associated with the childrens’ stay are met from charitable donations.

GARDEN REPORT This week in our gardening program we were divided into two groups. One group was

putting down fresh soil for the plants and one was collecting nectarines from the ground

to avoid fruit flies.

When we picked up the nectarines that had fallen out of the tree we noticed that they

were very soggy and mushy. That’s why we had to wear gloves so our hands didn’t get

sticky. We threw them in the bin and we had four bins full. It was very fun and we ended

up getting most of it done, yay!

For the science part of our rotations we were looking at the cattle farming industries in

Australia and sustainable farming. We learnt a lot about how important sustainable

farming is for our world.
