Physical Safety PrecautionsThe follow ing instr uctions a re import a nt for your sa fety a nd for the

carefully before at tempting the installat ion.
WARNING Ensure that the hardware you are working with (TSU, SIU or
host server) is disconnected from thepower supply duringinstallation until you are told to connect to a power source.
To avoid personal injury a nd d a ma ge to the product , power t o the unit
must remain switched off during installat ion until i t is necessary to
swit ch th e power on. This means tha t t he unit s power cable a nd netw ork
ca bles must rema in disconnected unt il you a re instructed to ma ke the
conn ecti ons. Follow the in st ructions in th e procedures ca refully.
This equipment is disconnected from the power supply by removing the
power cord from t he power outlet . I t is t herefore importa nt to locate t he
unit close to a pow er outlet th a t is ea sily a ccessible.
For your sa fety, never remove t he cover of a TS U, SI U or server w hile th e
unit is connected t o a power source or to a telecommu nication netw ork.
Alwa ys repla ce the cover before sw itching on th e power to th e unit . The
t e rm s P OWE R OF F a n d P OWE R ON a re u s ed t o in s t ru c t y ou w h e n t oswitch the power off and on respectively.

proper power cord according to your local national electric code. Ensure

taken them out of their anti-stat ic bag.

Stage 3:Validating theInstallation
This sta ge describes how t o validat e your inst a llat ion of
HP OpenC a ll SS 7 3.1 on Linu x. It involves loa ding a pre-defined
configura tion (supplied wit h t he softw a re) in order to allow t he
v a l id a t ion t o b e pe rform e d . N ot e t h a t n o S S 7 h a rd w a re is u s ed w it h t h is
pre-defined configura tion an d it is not necessary for the S S7 ha rdw a re to
be connected to th e plat form a t t his s ta ge.
You must perform the actions below for each host of your platform.
Actions
Step 1. Log in as ocadmin.
Step 2. G enerat e a pre-defined configura tion using the cfgMgrcom m a n d a sfollows:
cfgMgr -resetTemplate 2
Step 3. Install the configuration using the command
cfgInstall from /var/opt/OC/working_config/platform_2
Step 4. S t a r t t h e S S 7 s t a c k s u s in g t h e com m a n d ss7Start.
Step 5. Check th a t a ll s ta cks are act ive, using the comman d ocftstatus. Repea tthis a ct ion un til a ll processes ar e act ive.
Step 6. Once all processes a re a ct ive, check the S S7 net work configura tion, asfollows:
