    Installation

    Physical Safety PrecautionsThe follow ing instr uctions a re import a nt for your sa fety a nd for the

    fu n ct ion in g o f t h e H P Op en Ca ll S S 7 p la t form . R e a d t h e in s t ru c t ion s

    carefully before at tempting the installat ion.

    WARNING Ensure that the hardware you are working with (TSU, SIU or

    host server) is disconnected from thepower supply duringinstallation until you are told to connect to a power source.

    To avoid personal injury a nd d a ma ge to the product , power t o the unit

    must remain switched off during installat ion until i t is necessary to

    swit ch th e power on. This means tha t t he unit s power cable a nd netw ork

    ca bles must rema in disconnected unt il you a re instructed to ma ke the

    conn ecti ons. Follow the in st ructions in th e procedures ca refully.

    This equipment is disconnected from the power supply by removing the

    power cord from t he power outlet . I t is t herefore importa nt to locate t he

    unit close to a pow er outlet th a t is ea sily a ccessible.

    For your sa fety, never remove t he cover of a TS U, SI U or server w hile th e

    unit is connected t o a power source or to a telecommu nication netw ork.

    Alwa ys repla ce the cover before sw itching on th e power to th e unit . The

    t e rm s P OWE R OF F a n d P OWE R ON a re u s ed t o in s t ru c t y ou w h e n t oswitch the power off and on respectively.

    WARNING When told toconnecta hardware unit toa power supply,for yoursafety you must always connect it to a grounded wall outlet.

    proper power cord according to your local national electric code. Ensure

    tha t t he ca ble meets y our count ry's sta nda rds for safety. For example:

    You must perform the actions below for each host of your platform.
