Dear Friends,
This year’s annual report focuses on performance- reporting, which provides structures of the department and measures its progress on meeting its goals, in alignment with the strategic objectives / theme of the organisation.
Over the last year, HR has focused on continuous improvement to increase the efficiency and accountability, while improving the services delivery to our internal and external clients alongside stream-lining administration.
The HR team remains committed to support the business and leadership and has taken lead in various projects and initiatives to bring in cost optimization and revenue efficiency.
Our efforts have been recognized in the external forums and we have been awarded and identified as one of the “Dream Companies to Work for” by World HRD Congress and Times Ascent.
As PVR continues to integrate continuous improvement into business planning, HR is committed to play a central role in ensuring that we have a high performing and engaged work-force equipped to deliver results for PVR as an organisation.
It is my privilege to submit the HR Annual Report for FY 2017-18.

As we embarked on our mission……
Dear Colleagues,
Our journey has been a cumulative effort of each and every individual who has been a part of our growth story in the last 20 years. We’ve always believed that the sum of our efforts is from each individual’s contributions to our business environment.
As we appreciate that our professional and personal journeys are intertwined, it becomes imperative for us to accept and recognize that our success and growth is a collective effort. It is entirely a harmonious inclusion of the tasks, assignments and inputs of everyone in the company at any given stage.
Our finest efforts thus is an integration of all the function’s contributions that keeps us in a forward drive posture always with our people driving our agenda. As we keep moving ahead, we somehow forget the “composers” that are responsible for the cadence of our people efforts.
It is a time of reckoning for us to acknowledge and appreciate the “composers” of our people’s resonance at PVR. Seamlessly they shape, align and filter the people alignment with business through it’s front-end and back-end tasks and interactions with our internal and external clients. As a keeper of our people’s con-science they are aptly the HRM (Human Resource Management) function of our company.
It is a privilege for me to bring forward the summary of our people-business context update in the first edition of the “HR Annual Report”. I am sanguine that the reported numbers and initiatives will stand testimony to the fact that we are well poised in creating new benchmarks in the industry endowed with strong HR strength to steer our onward journey.
My best wishes to the entire HR team as they gear up to take on the next level of growth.

PVR as an employer has been at the forefront in
providing a professional learning platform for the
new workers joining the mainstream employment
vocations.
HR team in the last year hired more than 8000
staff for the company. Of these approximately
50% of the workers were fresher in the industry
with PVR as their first employer.
Backed up by on-the-job training, PVR HR
team provides great opportunity and environment
to learn and grow within the organization. The
new entrants joining the workforce (in the absence
of an industry based curriculum education) are
exposed and oriented to cinema functioning in
cross functional areas of customer handling, POS
operations, sales and accounting.
This helps individual employees to learn new
skills and contribute to social development as well.
PVR SPRINGBoARD… e-LMSThe development of PVR SPRINGBOARD is one step forward towards digitizing the learning approach of the company. HR has been working in partnership with all stake-holders for establishing this eco-system of learning and development on a digital plat-form.
