COURSE TITLE: Anatomy and Physiology COURSE NUMBERS: PHAR 302 and 306 / PHSC 462 and 466 CREDIT HOURS: 4 - 4 REQUIRED/ELECTIVE: Required PREREQUISITES: PHAR302/PHSC462: Admission to the School of Pharmacy, or permission of

the instructor. PHAR306/PHSC466: Completion of PHAR302/PHSC462 with a passing

grade. DESCRIPTION: A comprehensive study of the structure and function of all organ systems as

well as of the molecular and biophysical principles of cellular and membrane function. Relevance to clinical states and to drug actions is presented in many areas.

INSTRUCTOR: James Junker, Ph.D. JUSTIFICATION: Students need to have a solid foundation in the normal structure and function of

the human organism in order to understand properly the deviations from normal represented by pathological conditions, and the roles drugs play in helping to correct or control these conditions.
