About 40 Days of Prayer for Ephesus:

The number 40 is of great significance in the Bible. As a fugitive prince, Moses spent 40 years of his life as a shepherd. For 40 years the Israelites wandered in the wilderness awaiting their entrance to the Promised Land. Jesus fasted 40 days before he launched his ministry. The number 40 often signifies a time of preparation in lieu of a major breakthrough of God, a season of training in which His people are to place total dependence on Him.

We are about to launch 40 Days of Prayer to pray for the Muslims, and the Turks, as well as the Christian churches in Turkey. We anticipate that this will be a spiritual awakening experience for our own congregation here as we engage in intercessory prayer. It will take place April 13th to May 23rd.

The goal of our intercessory prayer is to tear down the strongholds in Turkey and to provide God’s protection over 2010 Ephesus Celebration and Beyond.

What is ‘2010 Ephesus Celebration and Beyond’?

In 2007, a group of missionaries had a vision for spiritual breakthrough and revival in Turkey and other Islamic regions. This vision led 286 missionaries gathering together in Antalya to seek God in prayer and thus the birthing of the United Prayer Movement.

In 2008, over three hundred people from Turkey, USA, and Korea flew into Antalya to pray for Turkey and other Islamic nations. With this vision and belief that God is using the United Prayer Movement, people from all over the world will be flying into Turkey this year to intercede for Turkey and the Islamic nations from May 20-24, 2010. This year’s event is called 2010 Ephesus Celebration and Beyond for which I have also been called to be the lead spokesperson to mobilize Korean American Churches for this event.

Whether in Turkey or California, I wanted our congregation members to participate in this prayer movement, trusting that the LORD will cause a spiritual breakthrough in Turkey and other Islamic nations.
