Tips for Hunting Safety Harness Safety

» When hunting from a tree stand, always use a harness, even while climbing

» Use a hoist rope. Never climb with anything in your hands, or on your back

» If using a gun, tie rope securely with gun unloaded, action open, and barrel facing towards the ground

» Keep your cell phone in your upper pocket

» Avoid outings alone. If you hunt alone, remain alert and hunt in familiar areas

» Tell someone where you will be hunting, and what time you will be back

» Check the weather forecast before going into the woods

» Avoid alcohol when hunting or handling a weapon

» Check your hunting equipment before and after each outing, and maintain it properly

» Always wear blaze orange to be visible to other hunters
