ADJUSTMENT OF THRUST ANGLE IN BOSS

HYDRAULIC JACK

INTRODUCTION

Thrust angle is basically angle between normal to the front and rear axle of any truck or vehicle so it is one of the part of wheel alignment setting .

Some times we get the thrust angle greater than 25’ so in order to reduce it we don’t have proper apparatus to correct it , with less amount of operator power, and also give good level of accuracy .

We requires some APPARATUS or DEVICE to make thurst angle adjustment in boss.

CONT…

• SO IN ORDER to make correction in thrust value we need to ,just give the pull to the rear axle after loosing U-BOLT.

• So here pull is giving by a device which is just look like a WHEEL CHOKE ,and work like a JACK .

• IN ORDER TO USE IT WE REQUIRE TWO JACK FOR EACH REAR WHEEL ...• Placed in opposite direction so that vehicle don’t move .

DESCRIBSION1. LOWER PAD :- Purple color body part is fixed to ground . 2. UPPER PAD :- it is of brown color in above 3-D model. it is pivoted from one end , having tendency to rotate about the pivot , while other end is attached to the cylinder of hydraulic system (shown in light yellow).3. PADDLE :- RED color body part is called paddle . which is pivoted from centre and having a tendancy to move up and down from right and transfer the motion to the piston of the hydraulic system (shown in yellow).4 HYDRALIC TANK :- it is shown in silver color which is connected with the black color pipes.5 SPRING :- IT is not shown, but it will connect fix lower pad with either piston lower end ( shown in light blue color) , it is there because it restore energy while piston is pressed and help in bringing piston back to it original position .6. 4 BOLTS :- here in fix base we use 4 bolts in order to provide forward reaction or oppose apparatus or device to move back ward or forward while use in both the tires of rear axle.

How it will reduce man power and provide accuracy

MAN POWER

• Since it will use hydraulic system to give push to axle from both sides of axle, as we know hydraulic system not even require effort to lift some thing.

• Currently we don’t have proper apparatus to adjust thrust angle in BOSS.

ACCURACY

• Since as we know that hydraulic system has constraint motion , and we get small but equal amount of motion of upper incline and movable pad , for each time we press the paddle.• As we get 1. Constraint motion. 2.Certain motion. of upper inclined pad so WE CAN CALIBRATE IT and set certain scale to adjust thrust angle accurately.
