PCRA National Competitions-2017Essay, Painting & Quiz

Petroleum Conservation Research Association, under the aegis of Ministry ofPetroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, is committed to make oil conservation aNational Movement. As a part of its mandate, various literary and cultural events areconducted for school students. The Essay writing, Painting and Quiz competitions aimto raise awareness among youth about practical conservation tips for the conservationof Petroleum products in industrial, transport, agriculture and domestic sector, and howto practice such conservation in their daily lives.

For effective commui ication, students may choose to present their ideas and messagesfor conserving petroleum products and reducing emission, in English, Hindi orRegional languages.

competition.2. Plagiarismwill lead to cancelation of entry.3. In case the participation in a particular language is very low, the prize winning entries shall be evaluat-edby an

expert/ jury, appointed by PCRA.If the best entries do not conform to the general standard of entries in otherlanguages,PCRAreserves its right to rationalize the prizesfor that particular language.Thedecision of PCRAin thisregardwill be final and binding.

1. Only schools in India recognized byCentral &State Boardsof India, can participate.2. This competition shall be conducted only online through web portal www.Pcracompetitions.org and mobile

application PCRA-Competitions available onAndroid/lOS Platforms.3. It ismandatory for the Schoolsto conduct the competitions in school premises in a fair manner. It is requested that

all eligible (maximum number of) students take the online quiz, as it will add to their knowledge and is in Nationalinterest.

4. Eligibility: Students of classes8, 9 & 10.5. Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Petroleum, Environment, Transport, General Studies and

othercategories.6. Theschools shall reglste.the namesof all Students against the school 10on the portal www.DCracomoetitions.ors.

All the students can then participate as Individuals in First Round. Eachstudent shall be given a time limit of 10minutes to attempt the quiz of 10questions.

7. Software will select the two best scoring participants, who will form the School team.8. The School team (two best scoring participants] shall then participate in the second round or District level round,

by logging in the portal, in school premises itself. This round will have 15 questions with a time limit of 10 minutes.The last date for participating at District level is15th Sep.2017,

9. The best school team (winner) at District lev;1 shall be infor~ed by email byPCRA.This team shall participate inthird round by logging in the portal, in school premises itself, to compete for becoming State level Winners. Thisround will have30 questions with atime limit of 15minutes

10. The Window for State level shall open on 2Dth.Sep2017. The last date for participating at State level is 27th. Sep2017. -- =-- - .

11. The State Level winner: (school team) shall participate in offline Zonal Rounds for deciding the Zonal Finalists.Thesefinalists shall be ir,lIited for Zonal round. Thedate andvenue shall be advised by Emailto the schools.

12. TheZonal Finalistswill be invited to participate atthe National Finals.13. PCRAshall bear expensesoftravel.14. The schoolsshall be informed / intimated about the winners at each level bye mail.15. Competition Period:1S.07.2017 to 1S.09.17for online Quizcompetition upto District level only

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INDIVIDUAL QUIZCOMPETITION FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

1. Anychild can participate.2. This competition shall be conducted only online through web portal www.pcracompetitions.org and mobile

application PCRA-ComDetitionsAvailable onAndroidlWindows/lOS Platform.3. Child to register online and upload scancopy or photo of I-card of school/certificate of Principal / Aadhar Card/

Class10th Certificate. An activation link will besentto his/her email 10for participation4. Eligibility: Students of age 13-17years (students born on or after 01.04.2000 and on or before 31.03.2004)5. Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, Energy& Fuel,Transport, General Studies and

other categories.6. Competition Period: 15.07.17- 15.01.187. First LevelQuizwill have10questions with atime limit of 10minutes.

If the child answers 6 or more correctly, an online certificate of profiCiency (Bronze Level) is issued to his/herregistered email 10,and can be downloaded from the portal itself. Thesecondwindow shall open on qualifying thefirst level.

8. SecondLevelQuizwill have 15questions with atime limit of 10minutes.If the child answers 10 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Sil"",r Level) is issued to his/herregistered email 10,and canbedownloaded from the portal itself. He/she becomeseligible for Final level.

9.
