MOUNTING THE ENGINE TO THE STAND
D-361 Engine (Serial No. 22698 and below)
1. Install attaching plate FES 52- 7 on the engine as follows:
(a) Remove, as a complete assembly, the fuel filter bracket, fuel filters and the hose assemblies.
(b) Remove the oil level gauge assembly.
(c) Remove the oil filler elbow.
lIIust. 1-5. Engine attaching plate FES 52-7 mounted on 0-361.
NOTE: The two cap screws at the filler elbow location must be flush or below the surface of the attaching plate. This will eliminate interference when mounting to the engine stand.

Governor
1. Make certain that there is a shim on the metering valve under the arm. Install the spring on the metering valve, smaller end toward the arm. Install the assembly in the metering valve bore. Depress and rotate the valve several times to insure freedom of movement. If the valve sticks, lap it carefully with tallow. DO NOT sand or polish off the special surface treatment provided.
Illust.2·100. Installing governor linkage.
2. Place the governor arm in position in front of the thrust sleeve with the fork for the governor linkage hook facing the rear of the pump. Insert the pivot shaft, with one cap nut assembled loosely on it through the housing and pivot groove in the arm. See Illust. 2-100. a-ring seals are to be assembled on each end of the pivot shaft. The sharp edge of the pivot shaft is installed so it contacts the pivot point of the groove in the arm. As semble the opposite cap nut and tighten both cap nuts simultaneously, to 20-25 inch pounds.

3. Install the governor linkage hook over the pin on the metering valve arm. Check all of the governor parts again for freedom. See Illust. 2 -1 0 1.
IIlust.2-102. Installing governor spring assembly and
guide stud.
4. Assemble the governor spring, spacer, spring retainer, idle spring and idle spring guide and engage the end of the governor spring over the formed tabs of the governor arm. See Illust. 2-102. Install the guide stud with washer. inserting it through the governor spring assembly. Torque the guide stud to 110-115 in. Ibs.

GENERAL The power train of the 706. 806 and 1206
Series Tractors is basically the same in its design. The only difference is the size of bearings and gears which will vary with models.
The tractors may be equipped with power shift torque amplifier, 540 or 1000 RPM independent powe r take -off (1206. 1000 RPM only). hydraulic system and high clearance attachments for 706 and 806.
All tractors will have a 9 gpm hydraulic pump located in the bottom of the clutch housing to provide fluid for the hydrostatic power steering. power brakes and for lubrication of the power train. This pump will also supply fluid to the power shift clutches in the TA on tractors so equipped.
NOTE: Refer to GSS-1343 for complete information on all hydraulic and lubrication circuits.

INTRODUCTION
This manual was prepared in order to familiarize service personnel with the operating principles and proper servicing .techniques for the IH Load and Position Control Hitch and the AUxiliary Hydraulic System.
Information on the remainder of the Hydraulic Systems will be found in other Blue Ribbon Service Manuals.
Some of the illustrations shown are of cutaway units to better illustrate the features being discussed. Although the units have been cut away, the location of all parts remain the same.
IMPORTANT When servicing 1206 Tractors, see page 52.
