General Guidelines

1. Please go through the event details and respective groups before registering.

2. There will be a preliminary round for all competitions and only selected

candidates will be participating in the finale.

3. Students can participate in any number of competitions in their respective group.

4. Both Prelims and Finale will happen in the month of August 2021.

5. Prelims will be organized on MS Teams and Finale will be on Zoom.

6. This competition is restricted to ISGi students only.

7. Detailed judging criteria, rules and regulations are available in the following

pages.

9. Judges’ decision will be final and all decisions related to the conduct of the

competition are vested with the school and the management.

10. Audio tracks, costumes, and any other properties used for the competition must

be appropriate and confirming with the rules of the school. If not, the school has

the right to cancel the performance without any prior notice.

11. Registration will be open from 7th June 2021.

12. Last date for registration is 2nd

August 2021 and no entries will be accepted after

the last date.

13. The schedule for preliminary rounds will be emailed to parents of students who

have registered for the events.

1. WIGGLE -n- SPARKLE - ACTION SONG (English)

Rules

I. Minimum time allotted: 1 minute and maximum time allotted: 2 minutes.

II. Language : English Only

III. Participant is solely responsible for proper lighting and clutter free space, quality and

consistency of internet, device used, microphone, camera etc.

IV. Contestants have to be available on the online platform at least 5 minutes before

their allotted time. Details regarding online platform will be sent later to those who

register.

V. As time slots are designated individually to each participant, late reporting will result

in disqualification.

VI. Use of any karaoke, background music or audio tracks are not allowed.

VII. Competition is exclusively for the students and parent’s help/support as prompts or

presence, will not be permitted during the competition. If noticed, contestant will

be disqualified.

VIII. Organizing committee reserves the right to disallow any participant from the

competition if they fail to adhere any rules and regulations at any point in time.

IX. The Decision of the Judges will be final.

VI. Lyrics of the song to be performed must be attached with the entry form and no

changes are allowed thereafter unless advised by the school.

VII. No extra merit for self-composed/written song.

VIII. Use of any karaoke, background music or audio tracks are not allowed.

IX. Use of amplified microphones/karaoke mics are not allowed. Contestants may use

ear/head phones and the mic attached to it.

X. Organizing committee reserves the right to disallow any participant from the

competition if they fail to adhere any rules and regulations at any point in time.

XI. The Decision of the Judges will be final.

4. SING -n- SPARKLE -the desi way - SOLO SONG (Indian Regional Lang.)

Rules

and consistency of internet, device used, microphone, camera etc.

5. THRUM -n- SPARKLE – SOLO INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE (Any

instrument)

Rules

I. Minimum time allotted :2 minute and maximum time allotted: 3 minutes.

II. Participant is solely responsible for proper lighting and clutter free space, quality and

consistency of internet, device used, microphone, camera etc.

III. Contestants have to be available in the online platform at least 1 minute before their

allotted time. Details regarding online platform will be sent later to those who

register.

IV. As time slots are designated individually to each participant, late reporting will result

in disqualification.

V. Contestants can use any number of Music instruments which are arranged and kept

such a way that there is no unnecessary delay or gap in the performance.

VI. Any pre-recorded/programmed/play-backed/streamed content is not allowed. Use

of such audio/video content will lead to disqualification of the contestant without

any notice.

VII. Camera should be placed in such a way that the judges can see the hand movements

of the contestant. For Piano and Keyboard performances, camera should be on either

side of the contestants from where the instrument, contestant’s hands and face is

clearly visible. Otherwise the contestant will be disqualified without any notice.

VIII. The entire instrument should be visible while performing

X. Competition will not be for any specific music instrument, instead it will be for any

musical instrument of the participant’s choice.

XI. Judging criteria is mostly based on the over performance and ability to entertain

using the instrument, rather than the technical literacy and fluency of a specific

instrument.

XII. All the instruments used should be connected, tuned(if required) and organised

before the competition. There will not be any extra time for change, re-arrangement,

connection/disconnection, and other space-management related aspects.

XIII. Only instrumental music is allowed. Vocals, singing, beat-boxing etc. must be

avoided and will not fetch any extra weightage.

XIV. Organizing committee reserves the right to disallow any participant from the

competition if they fail to adhere any rules and regulations at any point in time.

XV. The Decision of the Judges will be final.

I. Ability to entertain the audience

II. Sensible and intelligent use of the Musical instrument and it’s components

III. Ability to utilise the given time in the most entertaining way

IV. Showmanship and stage presence

V. Ability to blend different styles and genres of Music

6. TWIRL -n- SPARKLE - the desi way - SOLO DANCE (Indian Folk)

Rules

I. Minimum time allotted: 2 minute and maximum time allotted for the performance: 3

minutes.

II. Contestants may use instrumental or tracks with vocal music. In case the contestant is

using any track with vocals, lyrics of the song should be submitted along with the entry

form.

III. Using a track of film songs (any language)/playback /Overhead Sound Track is NOT

ALLOWED.

IV. No changes will be allowed in the Music/Track after the registration unless advised by

the School.

V. Participant is solely responsible for the clarity and audibility of accompanying music,

proper lighting and clutter free space, quality and consistency of internet, device used,

microphone, camera etc.

VI. Participant is to send a photograph in the dance costume for approval.

VII. Contestants have to be available in the online platform at least 1 minute before their

allotted time. Details regarding online platform will be sent later to those who register

7. GROOVE -n- SPARKLE - SOLO DANCE (Western non classical)

Rules

I. Minimum time allotted: 2 minute and maximum time allotted for the performance:

3 minutes.

II. Contestants can use only instrumental music of any western music that is apt for the

particular dance type for this category. Tracks/Audio with vocals are not allowed.

III. Dance shall be any western non-classical style like HIPHOP, JAZZ, CONTEMPORARY,

ROBOTIC etc. or a sensible fusion of these.

IV. Participant is solely responsible for the clarity and audibility of accompanying music,

proper lighting and clutter free space, quality and consistency of internet, device used,

microphone, camera etc.

V. The costume and any content displayed on the costume should be appropriate and

decent in all ways and a violation in this matter will lead to immediate disqualification

and cancellation of the performance.

VI. Participant is to send a photograph in the dance costume for approval and any change

in the approved costume while performance may lead to immediate disqualification

and cancellation of the performance.

VII. Contestants have to be available in the online platform at least 5 minutes before their

allotted time. Details regarding online platform will be sent later to those who register

8. SWAY -n- SPARKLE - SOLO DANCE (Indian Classical)

Rules

I. Minimum time allotted: 3 minute and maximum time allotted for the performance:

4 minutes.

II. Contestants can chose any one of the Indian Classical Dance form from the blow

given list for the competition and any other dance form is not allowed.

III. Costumes should be appropriate and contextual. They may wear authentic dance

costume or ‘Salwar Khamees’ as shown in the image below. No other costume will

be accepted.

IV. Audio track used for the competition should be appropriate and authentic to the

classical dance form.

V. Participant is solely responsible for the clarity and audibility of accompanying

music, proper lighting and clutter free space, quality and consistency of internet,

device used, microphone, camera etc.

9. DRESS UP -n- SPARKLE - FANCY DRESS

Here each contestant is expected to dress up as any character. This can include professions,

story characters etc.

Rules

I. Monologues / dialogues, audio / video is not allowed.

II. Stage setting is not permitted.

III. Contestants are not allowed to wear any face mask.

IV. No religious deity to be enacted and do not hurt the sentiments of any religion,

culture or nationality.

V. Enacting smokers, drunkards, beggars or any such acts / dress are not allowed.

VI. Characters of political leaders or movie actors are strictly not allowed.

VII. Participant is solely responsible for proper lighting and clutter free space, quality

and consistency of internet, device used, microphone, camera etc.

VIII. Contestants have to be available on the online platform at least 5 minutes before

their allotted time. Details regarding online platform will be sent later to those who

register.

10. SPARKLE-OGUE – MONOLOGUE (English)

Here each contestant is expected to dress up as any character from a fairy tale/

English Classic. They have to enact a monologue from the chosen literary piece.

Go on and Make it memorable!

Rules

I. Each Contestant will have 2 minutes to impress! Don’t Go Over!

II. More than 5 seconds over the allotted time will have points deducted.

III. Keep profanity down to a minimum.

IV. The selection of theme is open but should not touch on sensitive issues for instance,

VI. Contestants have to be available on the online platform at least 5 minutes before

11. SPARKLE A TALE - STORY TELLING (English)

Here each Contestant is expected to narrate a story within 3 to 4 minutes.

Rules

I. Stories presented may be authentic, adapted or originally written.

II. Stories presented must not touch on sensitive issues such as race, religion,

stereotyping, politics, etc.

III. Stories must be thematically educational and should have a moral.

IV. Props, backdrops and sound effects are not allowed. Any use of these will allow

for disqualification by the judges.

V. Participant is solely responsible for proper lighting and clutter free space, quality

and consistency of internet, device used, microphone, camera etc.

VI. Contestants have to be available on the online platform at least 5 minutes before

their allotted time. Details regarding online platform will be sent later to those who

register.

VII. As time slots are designated individually to each participant, late reporting will

12. TICKLE -n- SPARKLE - STANDUP COMEDY (English)

Here each contestant is expected to present a theme based comical narrative in not

more than 3 mins.

Rules

I. No participant can point out any individual or religion in any way, and any dual

meaning obscene content is strictly not allowed.

II. Vulgarity or bitter insinuation should be avoided. Only innocent satire or

III. humour is expected.

IV. Participant may adapt original creations however due credit must be awarded

before presentation.

V. Participant is solely responsible for proper lighting and clutter free space, quality

and consistency of internet, device used, microphone, camera etc.

VI. Contestants have to be available on the online platform at least 5 minutes before

their allotted time. Details regarding online platform will be sent later to those who
