How to insert a picture and write on it! First, go to Insert, down to DRAWING, over to new.

In the drawing box, choose the last button on the right, which says “Image” if you float the mouse over it.

In Insert Image, choose “Search.”

Type in your search word. Then press enter or click the magnifying glass.

Choose the picture you want. Then click “Select” in the lower left corner.

Now it’s in your drawing. You can make it larger or smaller if you like.

Create a Text Box.

Click into the Text Box and type. You can change the font, make it bold, change the size, all the things you can usually do when typing. You can change the color of the text, too, for example if you want to use a light color on a dark picture.

When it’s the way you want it, press “Save and Close.” Now the drawing is in your document. You can make it bigger or smaller, move it around, whatever you want.

If you want to make another similar picture, such as for a timeline, click the picture so the blue box comes up around it.

On a PC, right-click. On a Chromebook, click with two fingers or alt-click. You should get a menu. Click “Copy.”

Then click outside the blue box (the blue box should go away) and press “Paste.” You’ll see another of the picture! Double-click the picture and you’ll see the drawing box again. Click into the text box.

You can change the text while keeping everything else the same!

You can also change things, such as the font size if your next item is longer.
