Step 1 Getting Started

Set Up Your iClicker Cloud Account

NOTE: You will need to download the iClicker Cloud Instructor Software if you intend to use Polling and

1. Download the iClicker Cloud instructor software from iclicker.com

Step 2 Create a registration link in your Brightspace course

Copy your course-specific LTI link

Open your I>Clicker account from the Desktop Instructor software

Click Launch Gradebook (top right)

Click Settings

Navigate to the Grade Sync tab of your course settings and switch Grade Sync Integration

ON.

Select Brightspace as your platform from the drop-down menu

Navigate to "Content" in D2L/Brightspace

Click "Create new LTI Link"

already have one. Doing this from here will link your Brightspace and Reef

identities for this course and allow me to synchronize your scores.

Click "Sync Scores to LMS" in the online gradebook

Note: Whenever you sync your scores, you also send an email reminder to any

student who has not yet used the iClicker Cloud association link. You can turn this

option off in the LMS Sync tab of your Course Settings.

How to sync scores to D2L

iClicker Cloud score totals are synced to D2L as percentages normalized to the

points you defined in D2L. While points in iClicker Cloud are built up from zero,

the scores in D2L start at the maximum number of points and are updated every

time a sync is performed.

Example: Halfway through the term, an instructor has run 20 polling sessions

worth a total of 160 points. In D2L, the instructor defined the iClicker Cloud grade

item to be worth 50 points for their course. A student with a iClicker Cloud score

of 120 points will show a D2L score of 37.5 points when syncing scores.

iClicker Cloud: (120 pts earned) / (160 pts possible) = 0.75

LMS: (0.75)(50 pts possible) = 37.5 pts earned

Even though the percentage shown in iClicker Cloud is shown as an integer, the

synchronized percentage retains greater precision so that the D2L score is

converted accurately.

Example: After the first week of class, an instructor has run sessions worth a total

of 6 points. In D2L, the instructor defined the iClicker Cloud grade item to be

worth 100 points for their course. A student with a iClicker Cloud score of 5 points

will show a iClicker Cloud percentage of 83%, but the conversion in D2L displays

83.33.

iClicker Cloud: (5 pts earned) / (6 pts possible) = 0.8333 or 83% when

rounded

LMS: (0.8333)(100 pts possible) = 83.33 pts earned
