How to Get the Card

Press

Purchase ICOCA.

Choose 2000.

Insert 2,000.

Choose whether you want a receipt.

Your smart card will be issued.

Initial purchase (breakdown of 2,000):1,500 as the initially

Credit cards are not accepted. A separate express ticket is required if a passenger wishes to take an express train in the ICOCA area. Bullet trains not supported.

A deposit is required for ICOCA users when they first buy the card to encourage repeated use and to make the card non-expendable.The deposit is returned when users return the card for reasons including a refund.

The card can be recharged with more money for repeated use.

Insert intothe card slot.

Press the amountyou wish to charge.

Insert cash.

Insert into the cardslot located on the upper right.

Press the Print Receipt

button if you need a receipt.

The card can be easily recharged with additional money at ticket-vending or smart card recharge machines for repeated use.

*Credit cards are not accepted for recharging. *The maximum balance on the card is 20,000.

Passing the smart card over a card reader will get you throughthe automatic ticket gate.The fare is automatically deducted from your card balance.

Payment is easy,

eliminatingsmall change.

You can shop with the ICOCA card at kiosks, convenience stores, restaurants and vending

machines inside stations, or some shops outside stations. Find the logo.

Confirm the amount billed;

pass the ICOCA card over the card reader.

Settlement is completed once

you hear the electronic sound.

Bring merchandise to

the cash register.
