IDS5™ Introduction

Systems Atlanta, Inc. (SAI) IDS5™ is a system of workstations connected by a communications network to distribute and display static and real-time data. IDS5™ acts as an electronic binder, providing immediate access to a wide range of operational information and support data; promoting the safety and efficiency of operations. Operators have immediate access to large quantities of information that they would otherwise obtain from printed reference materials. IDS5™ de-clutters the work environment by displaying a wide variety of data from multiple sources onto a single display to increase situational awareness and reduce required work space. IDS5 further improves work-place efficiency through an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) which minimizes operator actions.

IDS5™ Data Presentation

IDS5™ provides immediate access to a wide range of operational information and support data. This type of information and more can be displayed with dynamic data collected through interfaces to external data sources. The IDS5™ presentation consists of the layout, type, colors, and amounts of information that reside on any given page. Referred to as profiles, the IDS5™ presentation can be customized and tailored for specific positions or roles eliminating unnecessary and distracting information from the display. Profiles are pre-configured by local Database Administrators and are selectable by end users allowing for quick operational reconfiguration when necessary. IDS5 also provides users with different color combinations (color sets) to accommodate various levels of lighting. With a single-click, users select the color set best suited for their environment.

Navigating IDS5™ IDS5™ provides the user consistent and easy access to all data; users never have to memorize page numbers or data locations to access information. All information is accessible via touch-screen friendly and clearly labeled buttons with most data being accessible with 3 clicks or less. If necessary, IDS5™ pages may be searched for by page title. For example, to display a list of all pages containing weather information, enter the word “weather” in the search field.

Updating & Sharing Data: End User Perspective Most user-entered data is updated with a single click and no typing is necessary; other data is entered with a keyboard and pointing device. When a user enters data, IDS5™ immediately transmits the data to all workstations, allowing immediate access for all users. IDS5™ is a highly-customizable coordination tool designed to reduce voice communication and improve safety by notifying numerous personnel of important information simultaneously. The built-in acknowledgement feature allows a user to acknowledge the receipt of information with a single click.

Additionally, the automated data export feature is available to generate pre-defined reports for immediate distribution via e-mail. or textual report extraction to a historical archive.

Disseminate, Assimilate, Aggregate and Retrieve data in the Cloud eIDS6™ is SAI’s newest Information Dissemination and Display Systems (IDS) platform. Designed to support the information assimilation and dissemination requirements of your enterprise, the eIDS6™ NIMBUS architecture allows you to access, enrich and store your data in the Cloud. The eIDS6™ solution is an evolving modular/scalable capability suite with the following initial offerings:

RCR Graphical Interface & Display The SAI Runway Condition Reading (RCR) Graphical Interface & Display module has the capability to interface with existing continuous friction measuring equipment (CFME) to import and disseminate both the textual and graphical data. Enabling the instantaneous visual depiction of RCR data critical in defining the braking characteristics under various runway surface conditions.

Airport Information Display Outside the airport Command & Control Network, there are numerous agencies that benefit from access to the vital data integrated into the IDS5™ solution. Now SAI provides a view only, web-based Airport Information Display to distribute critical information to select external airport agencies that have been granted access.
