The Consulate as a part of its outreach activities in Frankfurt organised a ldquoAn Indo-German dialogue
Synergies for 2018rdquo networking event on 28th of February 2018 in Frankfurt The aim of the meet was to
enable a dialogue between the major facilitators in the Indo-German business scene who are based in the
jurisdiction of CGI Frankfurt The role of German Indian Round Table in enabling information sharing
about doing business in India and facilitating Indo-German business ties was also acknowledged at the
event The event provided an opportunity for representatives from the different GIRTs to share their
experiences
The event commenced with opening remarks by CG On welcoming the gathering she briefed the
participants on the importance of the event in charting out a common agenda to promote Indo-German
economic relations and to share and discuss best practices in trying to bring India and Germany closer
together for economic purposes

FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH on 15th March 2018 The event focused on the critical topic of The growing
importance of Cyber Security in a digitally empowered world Challenges and opportunities for the Indo-
German biz scene Dr Sebastian Schaumlfer co-host and CEO TechQuartier and CG Ms Pratibha Parkar
presented the welcome and opening remarks and emphasised the need to address and cooperate
multilaterally towards the cause of a safe net for the global citizen

The Rheinhessen Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a sbquoWirtschaftstag Indienlsquo(India
Business Day) on 21st March 2018 in Mainz with the objective of discussing the opportunities that
India has to offer The Chamber wanted to highlight the Make In India campaign undertaken by
Government of India to encourage foreign direct investment in IndiaCG Ms Pratibha Parkar threw
light on the steadily growing trade between the State of Rhineland Palatinate and India and mentioned
that the total trade between RLP and India rose by almost 68 from 2016 Speakers from Roumldl amp
Partner GIZ Gebruumlder Pfeiffer SE and Indo-German Chamber of Commerce shared their best
practices India as a potential business platform as well as the Smart Cities Initiative launched by GoI

GINSEP Bridging India and Germany
The German-Indian Start-up Exchange Program (GINSEP)
was officially launched in Delhi on 23rd of February German
Ambassador to India Dr Martin Ney and Suresh Prabhu Indi-
an Minister for Commerce and Industry were present at the
event which was also attended by over 100 guests from poli-
tics media and the start-up ecosystem in India and Germany
GINSEP is a project of the German Start-ups Association and is promoted by the Federal
Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) The Start-ups Association a neutral plat-
form hopes that GINSEP will strengthen interactions between the start-up ecosystems in both
countries
A key objective of GINSEP is to have structured networking between Indian and German
start-ups The pilot project will initially be implemented from September 2017 to August 2019
Through GINSEP the Start-ups Association aims to facilitate access of Indian and German start-
ups and investors to markets and networks in the other ecosystem
Various events will be offered under GINSEP such as expert workshops on internationalisation
and on the bureaucratic and legal requirements in the target country These workshops will be
conducted by the Start-ups Association in close co-operation with numerous GINSEP ambassa-
dors both in India and in Germany
Indo-German MOU on technical cooperation under
Sustainable Urban Development program amp Smart Cities in
India
An Indo-German MOU has been signed for an
ldquoImplementation Agreement in Sustainable Urban
Development and Smart Cities in Indiardquo on February 23
2018 The objective of the programme is to develop and apply
concepts for sustainable urban development about the provision of urban basic services and housing in
selected cities and Smart Cities in India The Agreement was signed between Ministry of Housing amp
Urban Affairs(MoHUA) Government of India and Deutsche Gesellschaft fuumlr Internationale
Zusammenarbeit(GIZ) GmbHThe agreement was signed by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Mishra Additional
Secretary Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Ms Annette Roumlckel Deputy Country Director
and Ms Tanja Feldmann Cluster Coordinator Sustainable Urban and Industrial Development Deutsche
Gesellschaft fuumlr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH India
The technical cooperation measure will support approaches for sustainable urban development in
the area of integrated planning provision of affordable housing and basic services with particular focus
on water waste water and solid waste management and mobility The lsquoSustainable Urban Development
Programme - Smart Cities in Indiarsquo project is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic
Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and jointly implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban
Affairs Government of India and Deutsche Gesellschaft fuumlr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
The project support to Government of India will seek to achieve the set target of promoting sustainable
urban development under the national urban missionsprogrammes such as Smart Cities Mission linking

KALAKAND
Hands-on 20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
500grams - ricotta cheese
2 tsp ghee
1 can sweetened condensed milk
frac12 tsp cardamom powder
frac14 cup pistachios
Step 1
Take a mixing bowl and add
ricotta cheese to it Next pour the
condensed milk to the mixing
bowl Using a whisk or ladle mix
both the cheese and condensed
milk nicely so that there are no
lumps and the mixture is smooth
Step 2
Heat the 2 tsp ghee in a heavy
bottomed pan in medium flame
add the mixture Stir well and
scraping the sides
Cook for about 10 to 15 mins until
the water is absorbed and the
mixture is dried up Toward the end
of cooking
when the mixture is taking its shape
excess liquid will have evaporated
oil will start to separate on the sides
and the mixture will start to thicken
into a lump
Step 3
Then add cardamom powder Take
the mixture out and transfer to a flat
dish lined with parchment paper or
oiled Spread the mixture out evenly
Sprinkle the pistachios nuts over it
evenly
Step 4
Run a butter knife through it cutting
it into smaller squares or rectangles
Pop it into the refrigerator for 3 to 4
hours
Soft and tasty Kalakand is now ready
to serve

KALAKAND
Hands-on 20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
500grams - ricotta cheese
2 tsp ghee
1 can sweetened condensed milk
frac12 tsp cardamom powder
frac14 cup pistachios
Step 1
Take a mixing bowl and add
ricotta cheese to it Next pour the
condensed milk to the mixing
bowl Using a whisk or ladle mix
both the cheese and condensed
milk nicely so that there are no
lumps and the mixture is smooth
Step 2
Heat the 2 tsp ghee in a heavy
bottomed pan in medium flame
add the mixture Stir well and
scraping the sides
Cook for about 10 to 15 mins until
the water is absorbed and the
mixture is dried up Toward the end
of cooking
when the mixture is taking its shape
excess liquid will have evaporated
oil will start to separate on the sides
and the mixture will start to thicken
into a lump
Step 3
Then add cardamom powder Take
the mixture out and transfer to a flat
dish lined with parchment paper or
oiled Spread the mixture out evenly
Sprinkle the pistachios nuts over it
evenly
Step 4
Run a butter knife through it cutting
it into smaller squares or rectangles
Pop it into the refrigerator for 3 to 4
hours
Soft and tasty Kalakand is now ready
to serve

GINSEP Bridging India and Germany
The German-Indian Start-up Exchange Program (GINSEP)
was officially launched in Delhi on 23rd of February German
Ambassador to India Dr Martin Ney and Suresh Prabhu Indi-
an Minister for Commerce and Industry were present at the
event which was also attended by over 100 guests from poli-
tics media and the start-up ecosystem in India and Germany
GINSEP is a project of the German Start-ups Association and is promoted by the Federal
Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) The Start-ups Association a neutral plat-
form hopes that GINSEP will strengthen interactions between the start-up ecosystems in both
countries
A key objective of GINSEP is to have structured networking between Indian and German
start-ups The pilot project will initially be implemented from September 2017 to August 2019
Through GINSEP the Start-ups Association aims to facilitate access of Indian and German start-
ups and investors to markets and networks in the other ecosystem
Various events will be offered under GINSEP such as expert workshops on internationalisation
and on the bureaucratic and legal requirements in the target country These workshops will be
conducted by the Start-ups Association in close co-operation with numerous GINSEP ambassa-
dors both in India and in Germany
Indo-German MOU on technical cooperation under
Sustainable Urban Development program amp Smart Cities in
India
An Indo-German MOU has been signed for an
ldquoImplementation Agreement in Sustainable Urban
Development and Smart Cities in Indiardquo on February 23
2018 The objective of the programme is to develop and apply
concepts for sustainable urban development about the provision of urban basic services and housing in
selected cities and Smart Cities in India The Agreement was signed between Ministry of Housing amp

KALAKAND
Hands-on 20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
500grams - ricotta cheese
2 tsp ghee
1 can sweetened condensed milk
frac12 tsp cardamom powder
frac14 cup pistachios
Step 1
Take a mixing bowl and add
ricotta cheese to it Next pour the
condensed milk to the mixing
bowl Using a whisk or ladle mix
both the cheese and condensed
milk nicely so that there are no
lumps and the mixture is smooth
Step 2
Heat the 2 tsp ghee in a heavy
bottomed pan in medium flame
add the mixture Stir well and
scraping the sides
Cook for about 10 to 15 mins until
the water is absorbed and the
mixture is dried up Toward the end
of cooking
when the mixture is taking its shape
excess liquid will have evaporated
oil will start to separate on the sides
and the mixture will start to thicken
into a lump
Step 3
Then add cardamom powder Take
the mixture out and transfer to a flat
dish lined with parchment paper or
oiled Spread the mixture out evenly
Sprinkle the pistachios nuts over it
evenly
Step 4
Run a butter knife through it cutting
it into smaller squares or rectangles
Pop it into the refrigerator for 3 to 4
hours
Soft and tasty Kalakand is now ready
to serve

KALAKAND
Hands-on 20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
500grams - ricotta cheese
2 tsp ghee
1 can sweetened condensed milk
frac12 tsp cardamom powder
frac14 cup pistachios
Step 1
Take a mixing bowl and add
ricotta cheese to it Next pour the
condensed milk to the mixing
bowl Using a whisk or ladle mix
both the cheese and condensed
milk nicely so that there are no
lumps and the mixture is smooth
Step 2
Heat the 2 tsp ghee in a heavy
bottomed pan in medium flame
add the mixture Stir well and
scraping the sides
Cook for about 10 to 15 mins until
the water is absorbed and the
mixture is dried up Toward the end
of cooking
when the mixture is taking its shape
excess liquid will have evaporated
oil will start to separate on the sides
and the mixture will start to thicken
into a lump
Step 3
Then add cardamom powder Take
the mixture out and transfer to a flat
dish lined with parchment paper or
oiled Spread the mixture out evenly
Sprinkle the pistachios nuts over it
evenly
Step 4
Run a butter knife through it cutting
it into smaller squares or rectangles
Pop it into the refrigerator for 3 to 4
hours
Soft and tasty Kalakand is now ready
to serve
