IETE REPORT
2014-2015
TKM College Of Engineering
Tezoro’14, the 3-day national level techno-managerial fest launched on 21st of February
2014, was one of its kind. Packed with several gems of technical contests, exhibitions,
workshops and informal events, Tezoro is TKMCE's very own 'treasure chest', a collective
presentation of several exuberant technical feats. Tezoro also served as a national level technical
symposium on 'Engineering as a Service'. . In today's world, where engineering colleges are
accused of turning out less socially conscious youngsters, the theme could not have been more
appropriate. The purpose was to impact the mindsets of young engineers to contribute to social
welfare. Filled with debates, lectures and talks, Tezoro will bring up a thorough examination of
all the possibilities of using technology and managerial skills to contribute to the upliftment of
the society.
The highlight of Tezoro was the myriad of highly challenging technical events organized by the
various departments. The Department of Electronics and Communication was particularly
proficient in this regard and organized not only an array of exacting competitions, but also an
absolutely boggling exhibition. Each event that was organized under the Dept. of ECE was done
with the aim of keeping our young engineers abreast with the latest technologies and
encouraging them to implement innovative ideas. It was with this profound concept that events
were organized from every area of ECE ranging from Circuitry, Image Processing and of course
the crowd pulling Robotics.
TITAN-O-MACHY (ROBOWAR)
Titanomachy or War of the Titans was the ten years series of battles which were fought in
Thessaly between the two campus of deities long before existence of mankind. The war was fought to
decide who would become the rulers of universe. TEZORO gives you the chance to be the rulers of the
ring .So stop thinking ,ready your bots ,its a battle which is to be fought, not seen.
Titan-o-Machy, the Robowar competition which was conducted on 22nd February 2014 as a part
of Tezoro was sponsored by IETE Trivandrum and IETE Students’ Forum TKMCE. The event
witnessed active participation of over 10 dexterous teams with their skillfully crafted robots
competing for a cash prize of ₹20,000. Event was coordinated by Alfred George (Final Year
Electronics). The stringent rules of the competition restricted the size, destructive features and
safety weapons of each robot. The six teams that were selected for the competition were made to
have a game of league with each other. Out of the three teams that qualified the first round, the
team that came first gained direct entry to the final round. The other finalist was after a play off
between the other two teams. The details of the participants and winners are being enclosed
within. The fighting ring was callous in that it presented obstacles like flame and cutters and this
took the competition to a whole new level of competence. On the whole this was a competition
that demanded brilliant designing, precise craftsmanship and logical excellence in equal
measure.
Event Arena Cost : Rs 7000/-
Total Prize Money : Rs 25000/-

All MICHAEL SCHUMACHERs out there, it's time to pull up your jackets, rev up your
engines and wait for the chequered flag! Live your dream of becoming a racer.
With speed and accuracy being the game changers, all you have to do is build a mini car that
follows paths without compromising speed
MOBRAZE (DTMF CONTROLLED ROBOT RACE - FIRST TIME IN KERALA)
Build a DTMF (Mobile Phone) controlled bot capable of tracing a path of 200mm width.
The event consists of two rounds in which Top scoring teams will advance to the next level.
The bot is supposed to trace a path of 200mm width and wheels should be within the path.
Scores would be computed based on the checkpoints cleared. The event consists of two rounds.
● Prelims: In this bot should trace a simple path which may include bridges, tunnels and
moving parts. Top scoring four bots will be advanced to the finals
Finals: Teams qualifying the prelims can expect a surprise.
