An orchestra provided music for both square and conventional dancing in a gaily decorated broil- er house. Frank Martin , Sr., Farm bureau Poultry Committee chair- man , and Frank Martin Jr., owners of the new plant , spent a great deal of time making sure their building was ready. The Farm bureau handled the publi- city, getting radio , television and newspaper coverage. Dr. J. C. Scholes of the Beacon Milling company, Cayuga , chief barbecue specialist , directed the work of several Beacon employes who assisted with the barbecuing work. Harold Lukert of Gould Feeds assisted Mr. Scholes in pre- paring well over 1, 000 broiler halves for the occasion. Ray Ros- alia of Smithtown Branch was general chairman. I. Vegetable Research farm, Riverhead , Satur- day afternoon at a field day ar- ranged at the farm by the Suffolk County Farm Bureau. Beginning at 1:30 p. m., the Research farm staff , Drs. Jacob Ellison , Cunningham and Huckett , will show visiting growers the many projects underway and will explain the problems of fertiliza- tion , insect and disease control , variety trials and the many other agricultural experiments being conducted there. CENTRAL ISLIP — Well over800 poultrymen and their familiesfrom Long- Island , New York city,New Jersey and Connecticut en-joyed golden brown broilers , bar-becued over open grills and char-coal at the Martin Broiler farmin Central Islip Saturday.

An orchestra provided musicfor both square and conventionaldancing in a gaily decorated broil-er house. Frank Martin , Sr., Farmbureau Poultry Committee chair-man , and Frank Martin Jr.,owners of the new plant , spent agreat deal of time making suretheir building was ready. TheFarm bureau handled the publi-city, getting radio, television andnewspaper coverage.
