INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL A very appreciative thank you to everyone who helped, in any way, with the Food Festival. From set-up and tear-down, providing the delicious food, donating needed items, emceeing, providing music and attending to enjoy a meal. St Bernadette’s is truly a family who come together to support each other in community events, social gatherings, prayer and service to our Church. CHICKEN PICKIN BASKETS The Social Committee will be selling tickets for the baskets May 22 and May 29, as well as at the Chicken Pickin. The baskets are currently in the back room where the Knights of Columbus meet. THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING was held on May 11, 2016. Padre led us in an opening prayer. Minutes of April 14 were approved. FI-NANCE: Next year’s budget was discussed. 4 People have volunteered to share in lawn mowing. LITUR-GY: Summer Masses, receptions and special activities were discussed. Baccalaureate Mass will be June 12. FUNDRAISING: Approx., $4300 profit from Food Festival. Chicken Pick’n will be June 4

th. Car

Raffle was discussed. Maggie Davies will be the new Fundraising Chair. MAINTENANCE: Benches were purchased for front of the Church. Poor box was inserted into table in vestibule. Shed has been repaired and storage shelves installed in Church office. BUILDING: Will meet to finalize plans for flooring (carpet, hardwood, tile). Council recommends hardwood and tile. Moisture issue must be addressed. SOCIAL: Will provide refreshments after Mass on Pentecost. REMARKS: Padre and Parish Council want to eliminate the image of St. Bernadette’s as a “poor parish”. Hard work and the support of all will enable us to do that. Next meeting will be June 16
