IIUM ENDOWMENT FUND

The IIUM Endowment Fund is as charity division

of the International Islamic University Malaysia.

It was established on 15th March 1999,

endorsed at the 48th meeting of the Majlis of

IIUM, as a division in the International Islamic

University Malaysia.

● To solicit and receive contributions in the form of movable andimmovable properties, cash, shares, negotiable instruments etc. fromMalaysian and Foreign donors for the purpose of education andresearch;

● To provide scholarships, loans and assistance to the needy students ofIIUM;

● To promote and develop academic activities in IIUM, including researchand publications,

● To fulfill specific wishes of a donor in so far as they relate to a particularobjective within the parameters of IIUM; and

● To invest in investment avenues permitted by the Shari'ah

● To provide financial assistance to IIUM staff who qualify for hardshipassistance;

• The IEF Executive Committee is the highest authority of the IIUM Endowment Fund.

• The IEF Executive Committee has the discretionary authority to approve or revoke any decisions made by the sub-committees or the management of the IEF.

• The IEF Executive Committee Members are responsible for overseeing the activities and performance of IEF.

• The Committee consists of seven (7) members who meet at least once every four (4) months or as the occasion demands.

• All sub-committees under IIUM Endowment Fund are formed with the approval of IEF executive committee.

The recently launched programme is one of IEF’s initiatives toincrease the size of our fund for needy students and at the sametime to secure continuous financial sustainability. This programmestrictly follows the concept of cash Waqf and all your contributionswill be pooled and invested in the Shariah compliant investmentinstruments. Only the yields from the investment will be used toassist needy students.

Barakah Scheme – Zakat PaymentIEF has been appointed the Sub-Amil for the Lembaga Zakat

Selangor since 2005. This collaboration has allowed IEF to

collect all Zakat from the IIUM community and the public

through both IIUM monthly salary deductions and counter

collections.

The disbursement portion, which is 50% of the Zakat collection

reimbursed to IEF, is distributed to Asnaf among the IIUM

community, with priority given to students.

In addition, IEF also receive Corporate Zakat from

corporate companies and organizations.

KAFALAH (FOSTER PARENTS)

PROGRAMME

The Kafalah programme invites

interested donors to assist deserving

students with their monthly living

expenses during their period of study,

preferably at RM400.00 a month per

student.

All cash donated to IIUM Endowment Fund are tax deductible under Section 44(6) Income Tax Act, (IIUM Reference no. JHDN. 01/35/42/51/179-6.2952).

GENERAL DONATION

Donations solicited from individuals orinstitutions through meetings, mail,events or campaign have enabled IEF tofinancially assist deserving students ofIIUM, mainly to finance the IIUMUmmatic Scholarship.

IEF also encourages donors to drop theircontribution in the donation boxes, whichare circulated during IIUM events andplaced at IIUM office counters as well asat business outlet counters around thecampus.

RM 1 CAMPAIGN

This programme is designed to

motivate the donors to donate a

minimum of RM 1.00 to the fund. At

this moment, it is run through the

IIUM monthly salary deduction

only. All funds are used for IEF

financial aid programmes for needy

students.
