Method statement

STAGE 1 - ACCEPTANCE OF OUR PROPOSAL

- G&M to provide formal contract/Agreement – see draft

STAGE 2 – MASTERPLAN

- our final master plan will be adapted/modified/fine-tuned by Dimitri van Hauwaert, working closely with Anthony Sakkal and Paul

Antonios to ensure that the design team is in full agreement with the proposals. The golf course architect is the best person to co-ordinate and manage the project by bringing together all of the

other professional consultants.

STAGE 3 - PLANNING CONSENT- Confirmation of planning consent/permission for construction to

proceed – client to provide G&M with all relevant planning documents.

STAGE 4 - TOPOGRAPHICAL SITE SURVEY- we will require an exact image of the site in 3-dimensions (3D) so that

we can plan and model any changes to the landscape accurately.

STAGE 5 – DETAILED DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION

Before finalising the detailed design drawings the design and construction team will re-visit the site – the project architect will visit the site during the design period with the project manager to assess the impact of the following on the

golf course project: soils, geology, vegetation, water, electricity, etc.

On finalisation of the routing plan, the preparation of the detailed drawings and documents will begin. These are required for the construction of the course and

the following detailed drawings will be produced:

- clearance plan, staking/setting out plan, detailed grading/earthworks plan, green designs, tee designs, bunker designs, fairway/feature mounding designs,

practice facilities including driving range design (ex. buildings), grassing/seeding plans, drainage plan and landscape/water feature plans (to

be detailed and agreed on site with the Project Manager).

STAGE 6 – IRRIGATION DESIGNWe produce the irrigation design in conjunction with Didier Comte, together with specifications for the installation of the system. The irrigation design and specification is sent to independent irrigation

supply companies as part of a competitive tender. During the construction period regular site inspections will be undertaken by Didier

Comte to ensure the system is being installed in accordance with the design and specifications.

STAGE 7 – BUDGET COSTINGS AND TENDER EVALUATIONIn conjunction with the client we will determine the likely cost of the construction of the golf course. The drawings and documents will be issued to local construction companies for competitive bids or to one

contractor for negotiated prices, under the control of our project manager.

STAGE 8 – CONSTRUCTION PERIOD –ASSUMED TO BE 12 MONTHS

Site visits will be undertaken by the project architect to ensure the design drawings and specifications are followed and to make any necessary onsite amendments – 12 no. visits total (24 days)

Our role as golf course architects during the construction period will be as follows:

To inspect the progress and quality of work and to determine that it is being undertaken in accordance with the drawings and documents; to keep the Client updated with progress of the work; conduct meetings

with the contractor/shapers to review progress; to instruct sample taking and arrange for the carrying out of materials testing.

STAGE 8 CONTINUED – CONSTRUCTION PERIOD Project Management by Arne van Amerongen

Construction shapers -These are generally independent specialist operatives/consultants. Their charges are completely dependant upon the site, location and

extent of their role – they normally charge a monthly rate. We would, of course, be prepared to use other local contractors if they

prove to be capable.
