Target%Group% 2500!young!women!and!children!living!in!the!slums!and!rural!areas!of!Kenya.!Over!2500!people!are!part!of!the!target!group.!

• Better!housing!and!sanitation!

Causes% Extreme!poverty!is!the!root!cause!of!all!the!problems.!Poverty!leads!to! crime,! deviant! behaviours,! malnutrition,! domestic! abuse,! poor!health!and!much!more.!Women!simply!cannot!afford!proper!health!care!services.!

Scholarships% 18!scholarships!have!given!young!women!and!girls!an!opportunity!to!attend!school!and!not!live!a!life!of!servitude.!

of!trinkets!and!other!items!at!FICCS!sponsored!events.!

Health%Training% To! date,! over! 200! girls! have! completed! a! 15Iweek! health! training!

class! in! which! the! graduates! become! leaders! who! begin! training!

others!in!the!community!and!schools.!

Medical%Supplies% Access! to! antiseptic! cream,! BandIAids,! first! aid! supplies! and! other!items! have! helped! reduce! easily! preventable! diseases! and! female!related!problems!and!has!boosted!their!selfIesteem!and!confidence.!!

Medical%Camps%and%%%%%Health%Awareness%

300! girls! have! received! full! medical! check! ups! and! have! been!supported! with! advanced! medical! care.! Over! 2500! women! and!children!have!participated!in!health!fairs!leading!to!improved!health!knowledge!that!is!shared!with!other.!

Feeding% Access! to! food! has! given! 500! girls! daily! meals,! which! are! the! only!

meal!of! the!day! for!many.! Improves!selfIesteem!and!overall!health.!

Improves!performance!and!attendance.!

Sanitary%Pads% 1000! girls! receive! sanitary! pads,! which! reduce!menstrual! problems!

and! infections.! They! also! improve! school! and!work! attendance! and!

reduce!female!discrimination.!

Mosquito%Nets% 400! women! and! girls! received! mosquito! nets! that! help! prevent!

malaria! and! reduces! trips! to! the! clinic.! They! also! boost! school!

attendance.!

7. Outcome and Impact Assessment

Without!the!FICCS!program!these!women!and!girls!would!not!be!in!school!and!those!in!the!feeding!

program!would!be!on!the!streets!begging!for!food.!The!program!has!given!the!participants!hope!for!

a! brighter! future,!which! never! existed! before.!Due! to! such!poor! healthcare! and! extreme!poverty,!

without!the!health!training!and!support!many!of!the!participants!would!still!be!suffering!from!easily!

preventable!diseases.!
