• Inonestudy,22%ofpatientswhopresentedwithstomatitisand14%ofpatientswhopresentedwithlichenplanushadapossiblecontactallergy.
Orallichenplanus:• CommonallergensincludeGold,Amalgam(mercury),Palladium,Copper,Silver,Acrylates• 8of13patientswithlichenplanusandpositivepatchtesttometalshadimplantremoved
andwereasymptomaticat1year.• Patientswithpospatchtomercurycompoundsandlesionsadjacenttoandupto1cmaway
fromimplanthadimplantremovedandmostimprovedorwereclear.Iflesionswerefurtheraway,likelihoodofpospatchwaslowerandpatientsalsolesslikelytoimprovewithremovalofimplant.
