Reinforcing a structure with cross- braces are very efficient in preventing damages caused by winds. In San Diego, California, where destructive earthquakes are occurring often, seismic design of structures is a must. As a precaution against earthquakes, cross-braces can increase building’s capacity to withstand seismic forces. In Minneapolis, Minnesota, earthquakes and winds are very rare.
