Morrison, a Rock- away resident for more than 35 years, died on Monday in St. Jos- eph's Hospital. He was a retired house painter. Born in Dover, N. J., April 2, 1874, he lived in Brooklyn for some years prior to coming to the Rockaways. He had made his home at 135 Beach 86th street un- til about a year ago when he mov- ed to 33-04 Mott avenue, Far Rockaway. H ewas a member of Long Island Council, No. 173, Royal Arcanum. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Agnes (nee Dennison) Mor- rison; two sons, Edward, a patrol- man attached to the 100th Pre- cinct, and William, both of Far Rockaway; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Lichtenstein of Manhat- tan; Mrs. Mildred Shaw of Wan- tagh, L. I.; Mrs. Agnes Ippolito of North Bellmore, L. I.; a sister, Miss Jean Morrison and a broth- er, James Morrison, both of Brookyn; also five grandchildren. Services were held last evening at the Denis S. O'Connor funeral home. Beach 84th street, where the Rev. Henry M. Childs, jr., pastor of the First Congregation- al Church, officiated. Interment is to be made this afternoon in Pinelawn Cemetery, Plnelawn, L. Mrs. Caroline Schmidt Mrs. Caroline Schmidt, 69, a former resident of Far Rock- away, died suddenly of a heart attack on July 27 in Ashland, N, H, where she was beginning a month's vacation. The Boy Williams family and Stanley Valis ago, her husband, Michael, drowned while also on vacation near the same place. Mrs. Schmidt lived at 14 Den- ton avenue, East Rockaway, since moving from I?ar Rockaway 15 years ago. She and her husband had operated a beauty salon in Manhattan. She was a member of the Daughters of the King of Trinity Episcopal Church, Hewlett. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Jennings. Funeral services were held last Saturday night in an East Rock- away funeral parlor, and inter- ment was in Greenfield Cemetery, Hempstead, on Sunday. Frank Mustapha After a brief illness, Frank Mustapha, resident of 183 Beach 112th street, died on Sunday at Rockaway Beach Hospital in his 62nd year. He was born in Eu- rope, but had been a resident of the Rockaways for some time. He was employed with the motion picture industry in New York. His widow, Mrs. Blanche (nee Kertin) Mustapha; a son, Francis A. Mustapha, and a grandson all of Rockaway Beach, survive. He resposed at the Edward Bennett and Son funeral home at Beach 116th street. Solemn High Mass was offered yesterday morning at St. Camillus R.C. Church, with the Rev. Matthew Sheridan, the celebrant, Inter- ment was in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Martin Nolan Mrs. Martin Nolan, of 167 Bch. 90th street, died Monday at the Rockaway Beach Hospital. She was the former Dorothy Vierling. born July 20. 1897 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Otto Vierling and Elizabeth Emich. Vierling. Her husband Martin Nolan, who has been in the butcher busi' ness here for a number of years, survives. She is reposing at the Leo F. Keams Funeral Home, 103 33 Lef- forts Boulevard, Richmond Hill, near Liberty avenue. Funeral services will be held tonight at eight o'clock with the Rev. Geradi Mahoney, 20, of Rich- mond Hill, was driving on Cross Bay boulevard when his car struck the rear of an auto driven by Robert Byers, 40, of New Rochelle, who had stopped to obey a traffic light. The impact of the collision caused the Byers car to knock down the traffic light, and his car caught Are, Gerad Mahoney, Anthony Gal- lo, 14, of Woodside, and Raymond Gionet, 14, of Woodside, suffered concussions and lacerations. Dr. Fink of Rockaway Boaoh Hospi- tal treated the injuries. Chief Ryan was called in to put out the fire. They are being encouraged in their work by the Rev. John M. Scott, priest-in- charge of the church. Father Scott divides his time between tho local church and St. James Church in Long Beach. Parishoners have established the Restoration Fund now being raised, in memory of Joseph M. Dietrich, a well known Belle liar- borito who died within the past year. He had been active in the affairs of the church for many years. Leaders in the work are J. Philip Nordeck, Mi's. Mae B. Hunt, Raymond Bietry, Mrs. Sheldon Graves and William Angle. One of the church's enthusi- astic friends is Mrs. Estcllo Rosenfeld. Out of appreciation for tho work the church has done in the community, she has set j herself the task of carrying on a fund-raising campaign of her own in its behalf. Already money is being re- ceived, thet committee reports. It is finding this great encourage- ment in carrying on the up-hill task of raising funds for the re- storation of the church.
