Independent Schools AFL Program

Over the past three years AFL NSW/ACT has worked with a number of Sydney independent schools to provide opportunities for students to participate in a trial school-based AFL competition.

The trial phase has proved to be a huge success with the program growing to 10 schools and 31 teams, playing across four age groups in primary and secondary schools.

AFL NSW/ACT remains committed to working with independent schools and key associations to facilitate growth of this program. Our long-term commitment is to administer a competition of exceptional quality and support all independent schools who are involved in the program. We will work collaboratively with key Associations to develop programs in male and female schools that will provide a positive experience to the entire school community that is respectful of existing school sport programs.

AFL NSW/ACT welcomes any opportunity to discuss the AFL program for 2016 and beyond.

Sam Graham

AFL NSW/ACT CEO

Welcome

Will Langford Former Cranbrook student and 2014 Hawthorn premiership player.

Shore’s introduction to the AFL

program run by AFL NSW/ACT has been

seamless and beneficial for our students.

The assistance and guidance from the

governing body has enabled the sport to

take hold within our ranks and it promises

to be a flourishing option for our boys.

The resources offered by AFL NSW/ACT

have up-skilled our teaching staff who

coach the teams and have provided

confidence for these staff. Shore’s

venture into AFL has been rewarding

and we look forward to a long

association with the sport.
