This Index is designed to provide a compact and useful guide to The Society's publications. Only materialsof historical or biographical nature considered to have permanent reference value have been included. Con¬temporary social or professional news notes, matters affecting the Internal organizational structure of TheSociety, elections of officers, etc,, have been purposely omitted. Names of Individuals included in churchrecord transcripts have not been indexed.The Society has sponsored or assisted in publication of numerous books relating to the Dutch period ofcolonization and to the Dutch people, such as the volumes on Dutch Houses, by Helen Wilkinson Reynolds andby Rosalie Fellows Bailey, and a series of volumes of Dutch colonial records. These are exhaustivelyindexed integrally, and such indexing has not been duplicated herein.Three principal sections are provided,commencing with a quick reference chart of collected records followedby a topic or subject index, and a name index.
