Materials Handling Zone: The place to be!

Materials handling within its ambit encompass the entire process of sourcing, delivery, move-

ment and storage of products. This sector is enjoying a year on year growth projected to earn

more than USD 120 billion by 2015. Demand for industrial equipments has also seen an in-

crease, boosting the materials handling equipment market growth rate at 20 to 30 percent. The

growth of Materials handling and Logistics industry in India, has been influenced by the growth

of the retail industry, commodity markets, manufacturing and development of SEZ. 110 logistics

parks at the cost of USD 1 bn is expected to be operational by 2012 and an estimated 45mn ft2

of warehouse space at a cost of USD 500 mn is expected to be developed by various logistics

company within the same time frame.

Material handling and Logistics sector is expanding along with the huge industrial invest-

ments being made in the Indian market, making the need to mechanize and automate;

invest and develop better infrastructure in the materials handling and logistics sector

necessary, to reach the par raised by growing global standards.

Under such circumstance, it becomes vital to focus and adapt to changing market trends. With
