It happened 1760-1850

This is a time period where agriculture made advancements and machines became a bigger part in the lives of people.

It began in Britain, and soon spread to America

It was found in Europe and America.

MigrationUrbanization: When people move and live in cities

Cottage Industry: This is when people have a cotton business that they do from their home.

There was a migration of people from rural to urban during the Industrial Revolution

They moved to the cities because there were more jobs created by machines.

Agricultural Revolution

This lead to the Industrial Revolution because farm technology was increasing and this made it so other technology could increase. When technology increased in cities it caused jobs to be created.

Crop Rotation: When you grow a crop in a field and then switch fields and grow other crops there in order to keep the soil fertilized.

TextilesTextiles were the first commodity to become popular during the Industrial Revolution.

Textiles: a type of cloth, and an industry that makes this type of cloth

The cotton gin, spinning jenny, the flying shuttle, and the water frame helped in making textiles

Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin.

Steam EngineThomas Savery invented it

James Watt is credited with improving it

1698 is when the Steam Engine was invented

It is useful because until that point, it was difficult to get water out of coal mines. This invention made it steam in order to move it. It can be used in vehicles as well.

This is a method of mass producing steel

It was created by Sir Henry Bessemer, who it is named after

It allowed a lot of steel to be made at a low cost, this helped with rail roads and travel

Louis Pasteur is famous for studying fermentation and helping the industries that used that to do it more productively.

He invented the phonograph, he helped in the production of the first motion pictures, and he invented the light bulb.

He had 1,093 patents“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

This was a movement in literature and the arts which emphasized creativity and inspiration.

It was a part of the revolution because during this time everything started producing better
