Client was using manual methods to collect information from the different
applications as well as departments for consolidation and budgeting. This also
use to take 2 weeks of setup time before starting the budget process each year
because it requires:
Time to create department budget excel files
Input from prior 2 years and current year-to-date actual data
Create VP Summary and Enterprise Summary File
Create Capital, Fixed Asset and Employee Budget Files
Create Allocation File
Linking data for consolidation and reporting
Client could not quickly add new departments or initiatives to `roll-up because:
Every change required adjusting initiative and/or department file, then VP
summary and enterprise summary file
Process use to take up to half a day depending on department and / or
functional area
No audit trails were possible.
Client had to create additional schedule to track approved changes and required
consolidated information to double check if information is approved.
Reconciliation process of Budget cycle was very longer (in days).
Client had little control over version(s) and use to find difficulties in getting all
the departments to follow version requirements and maintaining records.
There was lack of capabilities for changes at larger scale.
Manual change management process was followed by going into each file for
correction.
