Important information

You have 180 minutes to solve the practical exercises.

Devices allowed for the exam: computer assigned to the student, paper, pen, pencil, ruler, sealed notepaper.

You can take notes on the internal sides of the exercise sheet and the notepaper, these should be submitted at the end of the exam but their content will not be evaluated.

The exercises can be solved in any order.

Please pay attention to frequent saving (every 10 minutes); it is suggested that you save your work every time you start a new exercise.

You should save your exam work in the exam directory that corresponds to the identifier found on the exercise sheet. Check that the directory that corresponds to the code found on the exercise sheet is accessible; if it is not accessible, notify the supervising teacher at the begin-ning of the exam.

Save your works in the exam directory and at the end of the exam check that every solution is in the given directory because only those solutions can be evaluated. Check that the files to be submitted are readable because files that can not be opened can not be evaluated.

The source files can be found in the exam directory.

It is suggested that you read through the exercises first, then solve the individual exercises one by one.

If your computer has technical problems, indicate it to the supervising teacher. The fact of indication and the observed problem will be recorded. The lost time will be added to the dura-tion of the exam. If the problem is not of computer nature, the correcting teacher should take the description of the case in the record into consideration. (The system administrator can not help the candidate with the solution of the exercises.)

At the end of the exam you should indicate the number and name of files created and submitted by you and located in the exam directory and its subdirectories on the first page of the exam document. When finishing the exam, do not leave the room until you have done so and have shown it to the supervising teacher.

1. Textbook ordering

Textbook ordering is a multi-stage process in schools. We have prepared a form for the con-tinuous recording of textbook ordering; a part of it is shown in the example.

1. File 9d.txt contains the data of books recommended to students. Import these data into the word processor and prepare the document using these, based on the example. The pic-ture showing the book can be found in the source directory as konyv.gif. Font type: Times New Roman or Nimbus Roman; default font size is 12 points. Save your work as 9d.

2. Place the title, the picture, the student’s name and class into the header.

3. The title is greater than the default font size by 2 points.

4. Format the student’s data using paragraph modification and tabs.

5. In the part about support, the font size of the small letters is 8 points.

6. The column widths of the textbook table are: 3 cm; 5 cm; 1.5 cm; 2 cm; 1 cm; 1 cm; 3 cm. The font size is 10 points.

7. Modify the documents as follows.

8. Insert a page break at the end.

9. Copy the order in the example (the sentence starting with “I, the undersigned…”), the date and the signature leaving a spacing of 48 points before the paragraph to the new page. In the copied part modify the text from ordering in the given number to receiving: “…have received… for the given sum”. Expand the text with the following sentence: “I will pay the payable sum within 8 days of receipt.”

10. Copy the modified and expanded part with the date and the signature in two more copies (it is required for the settling of books arriving later). Leave a space of 48 points between the individual parts again.

2. King Matthias

Create the following presentation to introduce how Mátyás Hunyadi was elected king. Save your work in the format of the program as matyas. The text of the presentation is located in the file mforras.txt, the pictures are located in files mat1.jpg and mat2.jpg.

Create a presentation with 3 slides.

1. The background of the presentation is black, the font type of the text is ARIAL or Nimbus Sans.

2. The RGB code of the colour of the title is 240, 215, 180 for each slide and the colour of the text is 223, 192, 141.

3. On the 1st slide the font size is 60 points and the font style is bold.

4. On the 2nd slide the picture of the coin showing the portrait of King Matthias should ap-pear on the right as shown in the example.

5. The date of the king election – 24 January 1458 – should be highlighted with font size of 32 points and font style of bold!

6. On the 3rd slide the picture of the relief should appear on the left and the biographical data should appear in a table without border on the right.

7. In the table the font size is 20 points and the font style is bold!

3. Halma

Create a web page to introduce the halma board game based on the following description.

Create a file with name halma.html! The text of the page can be found in file halmaforras.txt. The pictures required for the solution of the exercise are:

babu.jpg, halma.gif, halmaugr.gif.

1. The background colour of the page is indianred (colour with code #CD5C5C).

2. The title (”Halma”) is Heading 1, aligned centered. The title appearing in the header of the browser should be the same.

3. The skeleton of the other parts of the page should be a table in accordance with the exam-ple. The table width is 80%, aligned centered, the border width is 1 point and the back-ground colour is darksalmon (colour with code #E9967A).

4. In the first row of the table, insert picture babu.jpg into the left cell aligned centered, using a border width of 1 point. Insert the corresponding text from file halma-forras.txt (1st and 2nd paragraphs) into the right cell.

5. The rules of the game should be in the bottom cell. The style of the text “Rules of the game” is Heading 2. The rules are organised into an unordered list.

6. Convert the words “They can also jump” into a link that leads to picture halmaugr.gif.

7. The picture below the rules of the game shows the board for two players and four players in accordance with the example. Insert picture halma.gif and set it to appear in the cen-tre.

4. Body mass index During the solution take the following into consideration.

• Whenever possible, use a formula, function or reference in the solution. • There are parts in the exercise that use the results from a previous question. If you could not

solve the previous part completely, use its solution as it is, or instead of a formula resulting in a number use a value between 15 and 35, or instead of a text use the words “I don’t know” or “normal” and work on with these values. This way you can receive marks for these exercise parts as well.

A research has been carried out among secondary school students, where the students’ height (in cm) and body mass (in kg) were recorded.

1. Source file adatok.txt contains the list of the names of the students of a class in al-phabetical order as well as their body mass and height data. Open the data file using a worksheet processor, then save it in the format of the worksheet processor as tti.

2. Sort the data into alphabetical order according to the names of the students.

3. Insert a column before column “Name” and number the students there.

4. In columns “Height” and “Mass” every value should be displayed with its unit (cm and kg, respectively)!

5. Calculate the average height of the class in centimetres and display it in cell C39 with an accuracy of two decimal digits. The text in cell B39 should be: “Average height:”!

6. Calculate the total mass of the class in cell D40. The text in cell C40 should be: “Total mass:”.

7. In the next column calculate the body mass index (BMI) of each student and display it with an accuracy of two decimal digits.

8. The heading of the column should be “BMI”!

9. Give a formula that also characterises the received value in words for each student. (30 and above: obese; 25–30: overweight; 18–25: normal; below 18: anorexia). For every category, the lower limit is included but the upper limit is not.) The characterising texts “anorexia”, “normal”, “overweight”, “obese” should appear in column F – “Build” – de-pending on the values of the previous column.

10. Rename the worksheet to “all data”.

11. Format the table using the example (alignment, borders, font style).

12. Set the font colour to blue for the cells calculated using a formula.

13. Calculate the number of students belonging to the different builds in the free space below the table.

14. Create – on a separate worksheet – a descriptive chart to show the ratio of the numbers of students belonging to the different builds.

15. List the students belonging to the obese build using a filter. Copy the data received through filtering (Name, Height, Mass, BMI) on a separate worksheet. Rename the work-sheet to obese.

5. Teaching staff

File tanar.txt contains the names of the teachers ever teaching in a school as well as the subjects of the teachers and the year of the beginning and the end of the teaching. The indi-vidual data elements are separated by tabs. Save the solutions of the exercises with the names given in brackets.

1. Create a database with name tanarok. Import the data from file tanar.txt and save the table as adatok. Upon importing, add a unique identifier to the table and set it as key field.

The source file does not contain the field names. The field names should be the following: AZON unique identifier (key), NEV names of teachers (text), SZAK naming of the subjects of the teacher (text), METTOL year of beginning (number), MEDDIG year of end (number).

2. In a query, collect the names of the teachers who began teaching in the school in 1986 or 1987. (Kezd)

3. Collect the names and subjects of the teachers who taught mathematics (in the case of teachers with several subjects every subject is listed)! Without displaying it, sort the list in ascending order according to the year of the beginning. (Mat)

4. Calculate how many years the individual teachers taught in the school. Give the name of the teachers, their subject(s) and the number of years spent in the school. (Ido)

5. Give the name of the teacher who worked in the school for the longest period and also the number of years he/she spent in the school. (Leg)

6. Create a form through which new records can be added to the data table. With the excep-tion of the identifier every data should appear on the form. Set the year of the end of teaching to 2005 to simplify the entry of data. (Uj)
